8/28/2009 - The Real Deal

Back in April, we sent an email to our agents saying jatbar was done. The plan was to mirror the site and place it at a new home where the reviews and pictures would remain static. Its been almost 5 months and the migration hasnt happened and no new reviews have been posted. Its sad, but jatbar is no longer. Terry and I still eat out regularly and it feels weird not reviewing restaurants. Short term plans, continue our busy day jobs at Apple, eat good food for lunch, and slowly migrate to new home. Thanks for visiting our site for last 5-6 years.

6/8/2009 - Joys of being hacked

Last week, we had a little problem with a hacker roaming around the web server changing files and inserting a link to their site. Most likely a worm but there's nothing we can do about it since we don't own the server. Looks like they are back in full force changing ALL files this time. Not sure when it will get fixed. In other news, it's partly cloudy today.

6/8/2009 - Hackery Part 2

It looks like they are going to rebuild the servers tonight. We might be down for a couple of days. Ate at Taqueria La Bamba today and had carnitas and pollo asado tacos. Loved all 3 tacos. Jose had Pollo Asado burrito and claimed it was possibly one of the best he's had. That's 2 visits to La Bamba in the last month with both visits being incredibly solid.

For the update on Sakae Sushi, "Hiro Endo (the owner) opened a new restaurant on California called Noboru - it's actually just a short walk from Sakae. You should check it out. Noboru is a beautiful space - higher-end and totally different than Sakae. It has a great back room area for events. They're in the process of transitioning Sakae to Noboru, but not sure when that'll all be finalized. In the meantime, Noboru is open as Noboru."
