Prices

jatbar's always looking for cheap meals with the best taste. The majority of our reviews are done during lunch time so expect to pay more for dinner. Each dollar signs represent $7 but we adjust accordingly to a particular cuisine or meal. Example, you go to a sushi restaurant, spend $12 for a couple of rolls/nigiri/sashimi, and you're completely full. $12 is extremely cheap for sushi, so we assign one dollar sign.

$           1-7 (cheap)
$$         8-14 (ok)
$$$      15-21 (high)
$$$$    22+ (ouch)

FAQs (updated June 07)

Do you guys get paid to review restaurants?

No, all expenses are paid out of our pockets. We don't get free food nor do we advertise. We sell jatbar shirts to help pay for our expenses.
Do you pay the agents to write reviews?

Nope, they're are just like us, they donate their time and money.
How can you judge a restaurant on 1 visit?

Its a tough call but your first impression is usually a lasting one. If we had the time and money, we would like to visit places at least 2 times. Our reviews are simply short descriptions of what we saw and tasted. We hope our pictures and words can only help you in making your decision and not be a final judgement. They are merely opinions.
How come there are so many restaurants with high ratings?

Majority of our restaurants are suggested by our users. You're giving us your favorite places and top secret places to go. We cant help it if we share the same taste.
I hate your rating system, I hate your site.

It happens. We're not forcing you to read the site, you found us. When you're done figuring out why you hate the site, go build your own review site, do restaurant reviews for a couple of months, and let us know how it works out. We'd be willing to bet, you'll quit after the 2nd month and realize it's a lot of work. Suck it....
