My photo gallery 		I had the weekend off from work and wanted to do absolutely NOTHING. My plans were ruined when it came time to eat, I had nothing in my fridge. I got in my car, bought a full tank of $3.20 a gallon gas and headed south on the 101. I got off Ralston and turned left on El Camino Real. If my memory served me right, we had a wish list request for Sunshine Cafe in Belmont. I wasnt in the mood for a Sunshine Burger but saw the sign for breakfast served all day.

This place looks like it belongs in the southwest. Ive traveled extensively throughout Arizona, Utah, New Mexico and Sunshine Cafe is the type of diner you would find on the side of a lonely highway. I sat at the counter and order 2 pancakes, 2 eggs, and bacon for a whopping $4. He cooked it in less than 5 mintues! This beats spending 30 minutes in the kitchen cooking the same thing.

The breakfast wasnt anything spectacular, the eggs were ok. I cant complain about bacon cuz bacon is always good. The winner for the meal was the pancakes, it was topped off with a big block of butter. Pancakes were fluffy and thicker than the norm. Syrup wasnt homemade but from a plastic bottle, still was sweet and I managed to drown my lovely pancakes.

If you want a cheap breakfast that tastes like something you can make in the kitchen but with a Route 66 old fashioned diner atmosphere, Sunshine Cafe awaits your visit in Belmont. Its easy to find and plenty of parking in the back. Other menu items were very cheap and a number of daily specials to choose from. Try to score the counter seat by the slot machine
