King Pin Doughnuts is located in the busy Durant food court in Berkeley. With so many places to eat in the area, its nearly impossible to pass up the doughnut place on your way out. Ive been here only 2 times and been satisfied both occasions.

I ordered my favorite - rainbow sprinkles on white cake. Crunchy on the outside with plenty of icing on the top. The cake was fluffy and moist. Nearly flawless.

Its hard to judge a doughnut when its not out of the fryer but King Pin managed to preserve that fresh taste. Im the type of person that likes all doughnuts so you are not going to see a review score under 7. Seeing that King Pin is well above the average, its an easy 8.5

Similarly to Jason, I'm also the type of person who likes all dounuts. HOWEVER, in my hometown, there is a bakery that makes the absolute best donuts, bar none, that I have ever had. So, I'm always going to like a donut, but it will never be as good as Lone Star Bakery in Round Rock, TX. :)

That said, King Pin doughnuts were good. I really didn't need to eat anymore after a huge plate of food at Gypsy's, but, well...who can pass up a do-nut? I got one plain glazed, and one buttermilk something or other. They're HUGE, but I can't say I paid attention to how much they cost, so I have no comment on that. What I will say, is this place probably would have been a 7 if not for the buttermilk thing I ate. It was soooo good. They must have drizzled buttermilk over the top just before baking or something, because you'd hit these pockets of just pure joy that were still moist with flavorful buttermilk. Mmm...might be worth going back out there for that. They were also quite crispy on the outside, which is a plus in my book.

I would definitely go back to King Pin. Though I probably would ride with someone who doesn't pass up 15 parking spaces before deeming one good enough to take. *cough*
