Ever since Brother's Deli closed nearly 2 years ago, I haven't had a great burger within walking distance. It's been a void that I've been filling by driving to either In-N-Out in Millbrae or Jeffrey's Hamburgers in San Mateo.

The other day, I'm on my way to Mediterranean Kebab and saw the neon red lights that read Burger Joint. Holy frickin cow! I've been going to San Francisco and SFO location for years and now, it's within arm's reach.

I ordered a cheeseburger, fries, and water for about $9.

meat - I'm guilty of ordering American cheese over a flame broiled burger. The patty awesome grill marks and had a delicious charred flavoring. Meat was juicy yet not overly dripping with fat. Excellent flavoring and if I could make one suggestion, make the patties thicker and ask how the meat should be cooked.

fries - thick cut fries will fillings like mashed potatoes. Super good.

bun - moist, fluffy, a topped with sesame seeds. Buns are lightly toasted and touched with a thin layer of mayo.

toppings - green lettuce (thank gawd it isn't iceberg), red onion, ripe sliced tomato, and pickles (no thanks). No complaints here.

Here's the disclaimer. These burgers aren't cheap. If you can't afford to spend $10 for a burger meal, don't visit. If you realize quality ingredients cost money and want to taste a great burger, visit Burger Joint.
