I got off work late tonight and wasnt sure what I wanted to eat. I drove down Burlingame ave and didnt feel like stopping for anything. I continued on to California and passed Burlingame Cafe which appeared to be open. They're open until 830 which lands me 30 minutes until they close. One of the agents Ali had told me the burgers were delicious and wanted to give it a try.

The burgers here are grilled on a flat grill. I normally prefer flame grilled but Burlingame Cafe uses quality ground beef and keeps the beef moist by covering the beef with a steel lid. I went with the regular bacon cheeseburger with fries. For an extra $2-3, you can add another patty but I passed after looking at the good size burgers on the grill.

meat - lean tasting but juicy, lightly seaoned with salt and pepper. I ordered medium and it came out just a tad below well down. Grease didnt soak through the bun.

bacon - big slices of bacon, almost a bacon patty

bun - sesame bun, I dont think its store bought? I wonder if they have someone who makes them fresh for them. The buns look big but they were airy and fluffy.

toppings - lettuce, tomato, onions, mustard, ketchup. My only wish was for a dab of mayo.

french fries - cooked to order and tasted average.

For a single burger, its quite big and better than most fast food burger joints out there. They also offer gourmet coffee but Im not much of a drinker. Burlingame Cafe now ranks as my new burger place in Burlingame, give them a try, Im sure you'll like them.

***Update 12.26.05 ****
We have been informed that Burlingame Cafe closed about a month ago and have been replaced by a Philly Cheesesteak shop.
