We were running late on our New Years Eve dinner so we headed down the street from my apartment to Coconut Bay. I had driven by this restaurant about 100 times and wondered how the food was. We werent sure if this place required reservations but they happily sat us down.

Water was brought out immediately but the waiter took forever to take our order. It wasnt that busy but would have been nice to acknowledge he would be with us in a minute. I ordered the roti with curry sauce as an appetizer and dancing prawns.

Roti with curry sauce - think of a pancake thats crispy on the top and bottom, dip that in a semi-sweet curry sauce. Quite good but this roti was super greasy. Ive had Roti at other places, it resembled more like a thin tortilla with a hint of cinnamon.

Dancing Prawns - just reading the ingrediants had my mouth watering, large prawns stuff with chicken and crab. Hmmm...I should have known by the price ($10.95) it would be too good to be true. Dont get me wrong or anything, the food was excellent, the main problem is they only gave me 4....omg, Im a grown adult, 4 is an appetizer....8 is a meal....12 is heavenly. Oh well, it was damm good.

I would come back to Coconut Bay as there food is exploding with flavor at reasonable prices. With interesting combinations and presentations that are pleasing to the eyes, Coconut Bay will having you planning a return visit. One thing to watch out for is their spice...omg Thai food is notorius for having hot food creep up on you and this was the case on their Sweet Basil Bean Curd...wooowweee, they had a stealth green pepper hidden with the other green vegetables, wow...it was some serious heat that made my mouth burning for a couple of minutes.
