Im so happy Mediterranean Kebab moved in. Its down the street from my house and they are open until 10PM everyday. I think they opened back in November and hitting myself in the head for not eating there earlier. The Mediterranean pickings in Burlingame and San Mateo are slim, I usually have to drive to another city...not anymore.

Mediterranean Kebab is very easy to find. Its on the main strip of Burlingame Avenue across from the Apple Store. Parking might be more difficult in the afternoon but there are parking lots off of Burlingame Ave. Hours of operation are 10:30-10PM daily and I believe they accept credit cards. For a quick lunch, you can spend $6 with a cup of water or splurge with an appetizer and plate for $15. The menu suggests turkish influences like cacik and shish kebab as well as greek items like dolmas and gyros. They've got a great selection of food but since I was doing vegetarian day, I opted for the $5.95 falafel wrap.

The wrap took about 10 minutes to land on my table. Served on fresh lavash bread, it was a decent sized wrap. The contents were onions, hummus, falafel balls, tahini, lettuce, and cucumbers. Sorry for the horrible pictures, it doesnt do justice to the falafel wrap.

lavash - the flatbread was soft and had some grilling to it. Super good.

veggies - fresh and bonus points for the lettuce. Most places will serve you yellow white lettuce, it was a deep green color. Cucumbers were ripe, and presence of onions werent overwhelming

hummus/tahini - kinda tangy, orange color, just enough in the wrap but not enough to run through the lavash bread. Excellent taste.

falafel - nice green brown color, crunchy on outside, 3-4 balls in the wrap, it could have used 1-2 more but I'll let it slide since the quality was outstanding.

If I recall correctly, this place used to be a terrible restaurant called World Wraps, I would personally like to thank the city of Burlingame for letting that place disappear. I almost have tears of happiness for Mediterranean Kebab. Its sooo good and the people behind the counter are cordial. I cant wait to try the entire menu.

RETURN VISIT for Jason! 4/5/2006 - 9 Rating: I'm so happy this place is only a couple of blocks away. On my last visit, I had their Mediterranean Veggie Wrap, omg, super good. I wished the falafels would have been crispier and hot and I would have raise my score.

So far, I've had

2 Falafel Wraps
1 Mediterranean Veggie Wrap
1 Chicken Gyros
1 Potato Pastry
1 Mediterranean Combo

I've been back 5 times in 1 month. Do I need to say more?

Falafel plate

I love this place. It is consistantly very good. We pick up at least once a week. The falafel plate is a good sized meal. The hummous and babagonush are very tasty. The hummoud is creamy, and the baba is not too oily. The falafel are crisp and tender
