My photo gallery 		You would think someone like myself would minimize food ordering mistakes. Well, today was one of them. I walk into this restaurant called Tea Plus Noodle and left with Fried Chicken over white rice. I don't know why I didn't order tea or noodles, maybe it was the draw of one of my favorites foods, fried chicken. I had dreams of pieces of chicken dumped into the fryer with crispy skin. The reality is, they dropped a breaded chicken breast into a deep fryer. It was a sad sight.

The meal wasn't bad but when you compare real fried chicken and breaded chicken breast...cmon, don't be teasing me. The breaded chicken was breast meat but cut extrememly thin and overcooked. Usually served over fried rice, I asked for steamed white. The chicken was topped with a sweet and sour sauce and sesame seeds. The dish was lacked imagination and doubt I would order it again. It's my fault for ordering fried chicken at a noodle house.

It might not be fair rating a noodle house on that dish but their service shares part of the blame. When a new customer like myself walks into a restaurant, I shouldn't have to stand around looking like an idiot. The hostess or waiter should acknowledge me and ask if I'm eating in or togo. I had know idea what type of place this was so I stood at the door for a couple of seconds. People who worked there looked at me, didn't say anything and it wasn't busy. I figured I'd walk up to the counter. The lady looks at me and doesn't say anything so what the hell am I suppose to do? I grabbed a togo menu, ordered my meal, cooked it, placed it in a togo bag, I left puzzled considering I wanted to eat there.

So here's the deal, I'm coming back to order a noodle dish. I'm going to eat it there. If I come back and you guys treat me the same way you treated me tonight, you will hear about it in my next review with a lower score. Good luck :)
 
  RETURN VISIT for Jason! 6/27/2006 - 7.5 Rating: I went the other night and the service was much much better. The lady behind the counter immediately smiled at me, handed me a menu, and definitely more courteous than my last visit. I ordered the japanese udon with shrimp. Thick noodles mixed in with stir fried veggies. Large portions, 6 or so shrimps, firm vegetables. It was a solid dinner. It's very close to my house so I can see making return visits. I also order red bean milk tea. 1st time having this and enjoyed it. Red beans were very sweet like a dessert.
