Village Host was suggested by my co-worker Dave as he swears by this independent pizzaria joint. I was a bit curious since we had somewhat of an interesting disagreement at Ciceros a couple of weeks back :p

Crust - passes the test, firm, dough was fully cooked, the bottom of the crust looks suspect to buttering. Im only guess this because the crust is so damm crunchy and almost flakey.

Sauce - I thought the sauce was lacking. I could barely taste it and from what I tasted, it wasnt spectacular or anything.

Toppings - They dont skimp out on the meat. You definitely get your moneys worth with the meat.

Cheese - 2 types of cheese, mozzarella and cheddar. Lots of cheese but not stringy. I like the effect when I lift up my slice, it becomes a job to cut through the gooey string cheese action.

Overall, Village Host serves good pizza. The pizza reminds of Jakes Pizza in Saratoga with a thinner crust. Both places go heavy on toppings but light on the sauce. I would have to rate Village Host a bit higher due to lack of grease and price.

Cheesburger, chicken sandwich, pizza

Our entire family enjoys VHP. Mom can get the chicken, Dad gets a burger and kids love the pizza. All of the dishes are tasty. Restaurant is clean and staff are friendly. We like the Belmont store a bit more for ease of parking & great service.

Deluxe Cheeseburger

I grew up 3 blocks from this place and it is my favorite place to get a burger. Juicy, lots of flavor, and on a nice bread roll. The pizza is also awsome. They don't skimp on the toppings. Clean place, great atmosphere for a pizza place.

Burgers & Pepperoni Pizza

Pizza is good although not everyone will like the crunchy crust. Tomato paste sauce it OK. Burgers on the other hand are pretty good. Patties are grilled and roll/bun is nicely toasted. Nice to get a juicy burger.

THE HOST!! Pepperoni and Cheesy Garlic Bread!

If you haven't been here, I strongly recommend the pepperoni pizza but start off with some cheesy garlic bread. Stop in next time you are in Burlingame, Belmont, or Aptos.
