Jerseys Cheesesteaks can be renamed to Sport Junkie Heaven or Cheesesteaks R Delicious. Im not much of a sport fan but I can appreciate a sports bar that goes the extra mile from keeping you from going back to work. I could only guess how many sick days were caused because of this place. Its like disneyland for grown men; pool table, shuffleboard, video games, sports tv in every direction, sports posters, sports food, and beeeeeeeer. The only thing they are missing is the astro turf on the floor but who knows, they might be installing next season.

Although they had pizza on the menu, the thing to get is the cheesesteak. I dont know what posessed me to order the cheesesteak hoagie (lettuce and tomato)? I should ordered the pepper cheesesteak. While ordering some fries I was able to get a birdseye view of the grill. I almost teared.....finely chopped steak and onions....it looked like a real deal cheesesteak grill.

Within a short wait, the cheesesteaks were ready. It was disappointing to see a mountain of lettuce. I couldnt see any meat and my hopes were dwindling. I grabbed a knife and cut the sandwich in half (See pic 6). BINGO...we got a winner and the grease wasnt overflowing into the bread. My 1st bite was pure magic. The meat had plenty of flavor and appeared to be a real cut of steak. Along with the melted cheese, grilled onions, I added my mustard and this sandwich was heavenly. My head was getting lightheaded, maybe I was having a heartattack? I polished the entire sandwich...gaaaddamm that was outstanding.

I want to come back and try a pepper cheesesteak without the lettuce and tomato. Hard to believe but I think the sandwich will even taste better without the extra veggies. Jerseys Cheesesteaks is da shizzo for real. Last words for the sports fans...

Jerseys is located in the Plaza behind KFC. Having the day off from work, my friend and I stopped by for lunch at Jerseys. We walk in and the menu is right there on the wall for us to place our orders. This place is a lot bigger on the inside than it seems from the outside. They had several TVs tuned into ESPN but the main attraction with sound was Jerry Springer.

I glace at the menu and notice they sell Pizzas as well as Cheese steaks and decide to go with the Cheese steaks as thats what I came here for. The Cheese steak is only $6.50 and the pepper steak was $7.45. The cheese steak was the cheapest price on the menu. I decided to go with the pepper steak and my friend ordered the same. Later we added some onion rings and fries to our order. They dont ring up your bill when you order but after your foods are ready and they call your name over the intercom. Also you can order drinks at the bar. $1.50 gets you a medium sized paper cup soda with a lot of ice and no free refills. You should consider ordering a drink as your stomach will thank you for it later.

We waited about 5 to 10 minutes and my name was called. The Pepper steak is huge with finely chopped steak seasoned with pepper and some chopped green pepper and onions. The grease didnt soak into the bread but when I was eating the sandwich, I felt the hot grease dripping onto my hands. Initially my friend thought he was eating some ground beef sandwich since the steaks were finely chopped. The sandwich is a bit bland on its own until the condiments are added. I poured some ketchup onto to the pepper steak sandwich to add some flavor and it worked great.

The fries were a bit of a disappointment as it was greasy and the longest fry was about ¼ the size of a #2 pencil. My friend described it as eating “airy grease” because the fries were so short in length. This was defiantly not freshly cut and seemed to be deep fried straight from a bag of frozen fries. The onion rings, or what Jerseys called it “O-Rings” were much better deal as they were large, crispy, and fresh from the fryer. The O-Rings are a much better value than the fries.

I would love to come back and try their cheese steak as I hope it would have more flavor than the pepper steak on its own. I wouldnt mind trying the pizza as well. The soda helped wash down the pepper steak sandwich as it was quiet oily and the oily can be seen at the bottom of the parchment paper.

Over all this was a good sandwich but the lunch was somewhat pricey. With two pepper steak sandwiches, an order of O-Rings, and large fry final tally was $22.50. The price didnt include the sodas as they were separate from the bar. A sandwich alone is probably not enough for someone with a decent appetite. A side of O-Rings and a sandwich would do the trick. With a drink, you're looking at over $10 for lunch.

Pluses: Great steak sandwich, good onion rings, friendly sports atmosphere, plenty of parking, short wait time.

Minuses: Greasy/oily steak sandwiches, a bit pricey, below average fries, Cash only.

Jersey's was on the way home so what the heck! I picked up 2 mushroom cheesesteaks to go with a side of fries. As I was waiting I was picked up once by a greasy regular and eye balled by one of the bar flies. Yeah, make my order to go, and quickly - thanks! The bartender brought me over some water with lemon as I waited for my order.

I have been popping into Jersey's every so often over the last 12 or so years. Place looks exactly the same, dark, drab and busy with sports memorbilia, many faded over time. Only change I noticed was the new wood lamant flooring. I have only eaten in once and I prefer to take my food to go. Just not the kind of place I like to hang out at.

I get in the car 20 minutes later with a large bag... I set it on the seat next to me and see the tell tale signs: grease leaking through the bag.

I munch on a few fries on the way home and like that they are crisp and thick cut, but they were pastey inside and a tad greasy. Ho-hum.

I get home and we immediately peel into the foil.. WHOA! These suckers are hot HOT! Took wraping them in a paper towel to handle. First few bites, soft bread with plenty of crumbly meat, dicecd onion and diced mushrooms. Overall, sort of bland on flavor though. The steak needed salt and pepper at the minimum. It took another 3 bites in to get to the cheese. I remember cheese on top melted into the steak, making it one sticky delicious mess. What happened? Was the usual line cook off today? I always remeber excellent cheesesteaks from Jersey's in the past.

I felt jipped to be honest. Equal parts of mushroom and meat mean less meat than I was use to. Cheese, where's the cheese man??

It was a good size, but at $7.50 I was dissappointed. Two mushroom cheesesteaks and fried caqme to over $17... Sheesh! Jersey's needs to season their meat and to stop skimping on the cheese. Just too bland, and honestly too dry for me to give them anything above a 7.5. Having the nice bartender serve me ice water while I waited brings them to an 8.

I'd go back but hope they improve their shortcomings.

Cheesesteak

I think that Amatos is much better. The sandwich here was dry - at Amatos it was dripping. The wait staff were surly (no posted prices or menus for the beer, so I asked. They didn't like.) I won't go back.
