Palermo's Pizza is "THAT" friendly neighborhood pizza joint. I know there have been owner changes in the last couple of years and didn't get a chance to try the others. I think the expansion of the world's food market is relatively new as Sean was telling me the original owners had more table spacing. There's a great selection of fine foods and couldn't resist picking up gourmet almonds and cashews.

For lunch, I ordered the award winning combination personal pizza (image 9). It had standard salami, pepperoni, onions, italian sausage, bell peppers, feta cheese, bacon, and mushrooms. It's nearly $8 which might be $1-2 more than other places but the quality ingredients are what you're paying for.

Sauce was slightly mild and on the semi-sweet side. Cheese was overflowing to the sides of the crust. It was real cheese and didn't have the strange oily taste, great ingredients.

The crust is on the thicker side and can maintain a firm crust if eaten on the premises. I can't promise how it will hold up on a delivery but I can confirm even with 8 toppings, the crust still held strong. If you're doing delivery, I wouldn't suggest more than 3 toppings if you want that crust to stay firm.

From what I can tell on my this visit, it appears Palermo's Pizza beats the socks off your local chain pizza competition. For starters, you have the owner who provides you some of the most sincere service and secondly, their thicker style pizza has some of the freshest toppings, and finally, if you decide to order out, you have plenty of time to shop the world's food market. Easy repeat visit.
