It was a birthday lunch for team members at work, so we went to Florentines. We get there and the interior is a bit rundown. Its nice, just don't expect Macaroni Grill type accommodations. We are seated at the table. A large group of 20 of us, so take all of my observations with a grain of salt.

The bread is brought out piping hot from the oven and put out on the table. By itself it was an amazing bread, among the best I've had at a restaurant. Then combining it with the cheese/butter mixture was out of this world. I was completely pleased. They were slow to refill our bread baskets, but I can't fault them too much as we were a big party. Still, I could have eaten just this bread and been happy.

I went with the Cheese Raviolis. Then I waited and waited and waited. Like I said we were a large group. My food finally arrived and others told me to go ahead, so I started eating immediately. The food was cold. Ugh. I was so hungry (I was hungry before so the wait wasn't responsible for my extreme hunger). Anyway, the raviolis were only spread across the plate in a single layer. The serving was super small and I felt a bit ripped off paying $10 for this dish that didn't fill me up and was a bit cold, and a small serving. I guess if you are watching your weight, its a good place to go. If it wasn't for the amazing bread, I would be starving after Florentines.

I noticed the spaghetti and meatballs dish was MUCH more filling so I would recommend going with that if you are hungry.

Overall, I would return to try other dishes, but the raviolis just were completely inadequate for someone with the least bit of hunger. The bread and butter saves the score and it came out not too bad.

We worked pretty late Monday so the hubby said he'd pick-up dinner. I remember Florentine's having a pick-up dinner menu that was reasonable... $15 or so for two...

We wound up ordering different dishes so it was a tad more expensive. I ordered the curry-shitake mushroom chicken/pasta and hubby ordered chicken alfredo. Dinners come with their heavenly fresh dill-butter bread (think pizza dough, but better) with their slightly spicy cheese spread, garden salad (garbanzo beans are a nice twist) and choice of dressing. The creamy italian is a nice zesty choice, I usually get their house ranch-pesto dressing.

My pasta was lousy! Dry chewy pasta, lacking enough sauce, mushrooms were rubbery... SAD! My husband got seafood alfredo instead of chicken and it smelled nasty! Not like a fresh seafood pasta should. He called them and got his chicken alfredo but it was a hassle to drive back. He said the alfredo sauce was dull and lacked flavor.

Don't know if we just got them on an 'off' night or not... I have ordered my curry-pasta dish before and enjoyed it quite a bit, but that was table service at the Blossom Hill location, not take-out. Well, the bread was delicious and the salad very crisp and fresh... it just didn't end so well...

They do offer a bag lunch with a pasta-salad-bread combo for under $8 so I SWEAR, it's a good lunch deal. I just don't know what happened Monday.

On the fence about a return visit...

Spinach Ravioli w/ Marinara Sauce

Will not visit this location again. We ordered to go and didn't get some of the items we ordered. The one that we really missed was the breadsticks w/ cheese. When I called back and reported the missing items they sounded like they didn't care.

Chicken Bociaolo

Dissappointing experience again! This was a family birthday dinner. Chicken ok, but sauce was bland, where was the prociutto? Rotelli pasta was gummy, veggies were cold and uncooked. At $17.95 overpriced. Service was slow. UGH! We'll do Takeout only
