How did Harvest slipped the radar on us? It's supposedly a relative to the Sonoma Chicken Coop family. You browse the menu, place your order at the counter, and pick up your food when it's ready. Fairly simple ordering process and if you're too lazy to read, they put sample dishes on display.

I'm weak for pork dishes and ordered the grill pork chop and green beans. I don't know if it's a typo on the menu, it says $14.99 but I was charged 10.99. Yes the price goes beyond normal jatbar prices and there are times I just say, wtf, why not?

I didn't post pictures of the restaurant because dining accomodations are boring. They are a notch above Denny's and I guess that's how they keep their food prices down. Harvest did keep the tables extremely clean. Bonus points there considering Denny's can normally yield a french french hidden in the cushions.

Enough of my blabbering because the food is surprisingly really really good. The pork chop and I swear, it is good enough to belong on the upper restaurant tier. I order enough grilled pork chops to know, this is one bad ass piece of meat. Image 9 shows you; grilled apples, grilled pork chops, grilled red onions, mashed potatoes, and bacon and green beans.

Pork Chop was sooooo moist and cooked to perfection. It was a thick cut too. Easy on the chewing and laced with gravy. I ate every single piece and left nothing behind. Sweetness of the onions, tartiness of the apples was a good compliment to the salty meat. Mashed potatoes were great as each scoop had a melting effect. The show stopper was the artery clogging bacon and green beans. These beans were the thin ones with a crunch to them. Excellent color and what sealed the deal was the bacon and loads of bacon grease. Don't look under the green beans as you'll unearth a puddle of baco-grease. It's completely bad for you yet so completely awesome.

If the meal is $10.99, grilled pork chop is too hard to pass up. It's the best value on De Anza Blvd. If it's $14.99 like the menu states, it's still worth ordering but order a water to keep it under a $20. I have no complaints on the food and when I make my return visit, it will be nearly impossible for me to order anything but the grilled pork chops again. Pork ftw.

I apologize for this review being a few weeks old. Been a bit lazy lately. I heard from a few people that this place delivered the goods, in a 'Sonoma Chicken Coop' kind of goodness - so I was looking forward to trying it out.

We arrive and the place wasn't terribly busy, which is a good sign. Didn't want to stand in a long line or fight for a table. I went with the shrimp scampi over rice with salad. Price was a bit high, but I figured the quality would be as well.

Service was quick, and I had my food after a good 5-10 minutes. The presentation was nice, and it surely did look delicious. The salad was fresh and tasty, no complaints. The shrimp was juicy and indeed quite tasty. It wasn't exactly gourmet, but it was upper tier. The berries mixed in with the rice and the salsa with the shrimp gave it some unique flavoring that was a bit more than the norm.

I look forward to trying more dishes at Harvest. As it stands though, its a good destination and thankfully close to work for me.

NY strip steak special

Overall, pretty good. Steak was overcooked- ordered med rare, got med well, but was too hungry to send it back. Mashed potatoes & green beans were very tasty. Good value, but would try something different next time, like Jason's pork chop.
