I dont remember if JT McHarts was recommended or I read about it online but its a new place to new so its all good. Not too hard to find, its in the same shopping center as Elephant bar on Stevens Creek in Cupertino.
We were kinda in a hurry so I went with 2 slices of pepperoni. I didnt know they were going to be big and what was even cooler was the guy behind the counter let me choose my slices.
toppings - no shortage on the pepperonis, great stuff. Every bite had pepperoni in it.
cheese - thick layer of it.
sauce - tasty, lot of herbs and a little sweeter than the average sauce
crust - thicker than usual and dough tasted like sourdough bread. fresh tasting and one of the best parts of the pizza
If you are in the Cupertino area and wanting a pizza, you wont be disappointed with a visit to JT McHarts. The lunch was about $7-8 but I bought 2 slices and it was too much food. You should be good to go with 1 slice.

This was restaurant 400 for us and we had no special reason to choose this particular place over any other. So it was JT McHarts for lunch. The place looked a little clean, too clean, and nice? My hopes weren't too high after my first impression.
I ordered 2 slices of cheese pizza, and wouldn't you know, they had 2 slices waiting for me. It was a nice touch that they let me grab my own slices. With a drink, my 2 slices came to $8. Kind of pricey.
Well, how did it taste? It was not NY style, more of a thicker Mountain Mikes type style. But I was instantly blown away. All of the ingredients were VERY high quality and even though it wasn't my favorite type of pizza, it was still a very tasty lunch. The cheese wasn't overly greasy yet highly flavorful. The sauce was tangy and sweet. The crust was thick and spongy, with a hint of sweetness. A good combination indeed.
I will no doubt return here as its a solid slice fairly nearby work to me. Not as far nor as greasy as Ciceros. Give JT McHarts a try, if you like gourmet style pizza, it will surely appeal to you.

This spot is a short walk from my house. Their standard pizza is thick crust(not deep-dish, but thick). they offer thin, but even though i prefer thin, thick is the way to go here, because that is their specialty(go to ciceros if you want it thin). Lunches here are dead. no wait. ever. Slices are ready from 11:30-2:30 pm monday thru friday. I had a slice of pepperoni, and the sucker was HUGE. I think about 50% larger than their already above average sized slice. at $4.75 for a slice and a drink, this is a bargain lunch. Normally, I'd say that the slices here have as much stomach-value as two slices of your average chain-pizza, so when you go for lunch, just order one slice. you could always get another afterward if you've got room(no wait).
The slice was delicious, and blanketed in pepperoni. remarkably un-greasy. they use these dimpled pizza trays at McHarts, which alow the grease runoff to drain away from the crust. This is the only place i've seen these trays, and they are pure genius.
the crust is bready, but has a good flavor, and since it wasn't bathed in pepperoni juice, it is dry on the bottom. I never leave the crust behind here.
the cheese is thick, and has a great texture. they use a 50% blend of mozzerella, and monterey jack(i asked).
the sauce was slightly tangy and applied in a proper amount.
normally i'd go for a combo slice, where the toppings seem very high quality, but went with 'roni today. I wasn't even slightly disappointed.
beer and wine are inexpensive here. they are busier at night, even providing a waitress for table sevice. It is a family environment. they have a bunch of photos of customers collaged on the walls. they are usually stocked with newspapers, and even have a chessboard.
they have some strange pizzas on the menu. Like a BLT. it is a pizza, not a sandwich! topped with lettuce after baking??? curious. even more curious: the baja. it has refried beans on it? and is topped -after baking- with tomatoes, olives, and lettuce. If that ain't the weirdest thing you've ever heard, then you must have heard some pretty weird stuff.
While not my favorite pizza, this place is solid. I only do lunces here(although I'm sure it is a fine place for dinner). They are closer to home than my fave cicero's. and are open early enough and have slices for lunch.
Reccomended.

OMG this pizza is so good, everything just comes together.
As mentioned in my other pizza reviews, I prefer a thin style type of pizza thats crispy, as plenty of gooey cheese and extra sauce. With that said, some times there comes a pizza that may not be what I prefer but still blows me away. That pizza is from JT McHarts.
I arrive after around 6:45 and wait a few minutes for someone to take my order. I order a medium pepperoni and mushroom pizza for $16.01. JT McHarts is just a pizza parlor with tables and a speaker system with the radio playing. There are no games or TVs, so family can have quality time here while eating their pizza. There were two tables already taken by the time I arrived and I over heard a kid comment that her mom used to come in when she was a kid and the owner replied that he recognized her. JT McHarts is a family tradition for some folks.
I waited 20 minutes for my pizza. I didnt want to call ahead of time as I wanted my pizza fresh out of the oven and not sitting there while I drive in traffic. While waiting for the pizza the only thing I could do was read the menu placed on the tables. They dont seem to serve any appetizers although they have sandwiches during lunch hours and assortment of alcohol as well as a small salad bar. The menu said their dough is sourdough and they hand toss it fresh for each pizza. When I ordered my pizza I noticed they had some dough already sitting on wire racks waiting to be made, sort of like the Papa Murphy style. When the box was handed to me the box looked a lot thicker than most pizza boxes Ive seen. Also the medium sized pizza felt like it weighed a ton. This thing was so heavy
When I got home I was ready to sink my teeth into this pizza. Based on looks along this looked tempting. The mushrooms were defiantly fresh and baked in the oven with the pepperoni. Standard sized mushrooms, not the big slices like the ones at Pizza and Pipes. A nice thick layer of cheese on top, although the dough looked a bit thick almost too thick for my liking.
First bite was incredible! The pizza sauce just imploded into my mouth and it was full of flavor and spices. Ive never had a pizza with sauce this good. The cheese was gooey as how I liked it, and mushroom and pepperoni wasnt greasy. The dough was soft and fluffy tasting, not undercooked but consistency of eating the inside of sourdough bread. Each slice was even more addicting than the previous. I couldnt stop eating as it went down so easy and the pizza was just so damn good. Only downside was the pizza wasnt hot when I got back to the house. I doubt the cheese would have burned my tongue if I ate there.
Pluses: Plenty of parking, Accepts Visa and MC, good value, friendly service.
Minuses: No game room, no TVs.

This place is great, there's not much more to say.
A few friends and I road cycle every week and end up at only a few restaurants for an after ride meal. This is one of them.
The only thing better then the pizzas here is the service and smiles. It's location is also ideal as it is away from busy crowds and hidden in a nook. We can eat outside without worrying about or road bikes or gear getting stolen.
Another recommendation is Cicero's Pizza on bollinger rd and miller ave.
