I dont know how Terry talked me into eating Kokila's Kitchen but Im glad I was able to try it out. Kokila's offers Indian vegetarian and some vegan dishes for reasonable prices. If you are familiar with my eating style, you will know I have to eat meat with anything I order. I had my doubts but tried to go in with an open mind.

Kokila's offers a lunch buffet which provided me with plenty of options in trying to find something to satisfy my hunger. I wont even try to attempt to name the dishes but almost everything I tried, I liked. This was quite the surprise for me. The vegetables tasted fresh, beans were firm, rice was fluffy and moist, naan was great, the only thing missing was dessert. I didnt see anything I liked but pretty much everything else was flawless. Service was excellent too as my water was filled quite often.

After the lunch, I didnt have that bloated feeling or layer of lard on the roof of my mouth. I felt great after eating this meal with little guilt. I dont have much experience eating vegetarian food but as a meat eater, I would not hesitate to come back to Kokila's Kitchen and savor a fine meal. So, for you meat eaters out there, it is possible to get full and enjoy a meal without the meat.

I had to practically drag Jason here as it was a vegetarian place but I had to know if a vegan place so close to our offices was worth it. The friendly owner showed us the way things are done here. (of course he didn't know we were jatbar - hehe) The buffet pickings were not very diverse but the quality of the items there was HIGH. With the exception of 1 or 2 things I tried (and I tried them all) I was very pleased with everything. I am accustomed to not eating meat so this didn't hit my system very hard at all. I filled up a plate with items and was so stuffed after that one plate, I only grabbed a small plate for my second trip.

The roti bread and nahn bread here are AWESOME. I could have just eaten these and filled up quite nicely. Hard to believe they were vegan. They also offer some pretty darn tasty chips with their nahn that I went for seconds on.

Kokilas was clean and the wait staff friendly. The place was not very full on a Tuesday so was a nice quiet lunch.

Give Kokilas a try - you will NOT be disappointed. And under $7, its a good deal to boot.

This is my de facto vegetarian restaurant. This place serves one of a kind indian vegetarian food. Most Indian restaurants serve up the very standard north indian cuisine. Kokila's Kitchen serves Gujrathi food, which comes from one of the Western states of India. The food here is really like home-made food. The ultra-thin roti just melts in your mouth. I prefer that to the naan. On weekdays, the buffet includes 3 rotis and unlimited naan. But on weekends, their buffer is special with more desserts and snack items in the buffet.

They have a decent variety of tasty vegetables and two types of rice. The taste of food here reminiscent of the food I ate at home in India.

They could do with a slightly better decor. The kitchen is visible from the seating area. The restrooms are at the back and you need to walk through a narrow passage to get to them.

This is really the only vegetarian food I look forward to eating. Kokila's is a solid 8. I would have rated it higher if their interior was a little more impressive.

For a veggie restaurant this place does extremely well. I also prefer to have meat at every meal, but i can not hold that against them.

Everything is well prepared and executed. Tastes as they should and I can not complain about a thing besides they don't have meat.

I go here at least once a week. It's always great, and they mix up the offerings a lot, too. On weekends they have a few slightly fancier choices, including more desserts and chai. Their yogurt is soooo good!

Forgot how good this place is. Very nice level of spice (more can be added with peppers) and clean, strong tasting food that isn't dry or stale. You feel good after eating it too.
