Creative food - when is the last time you saw duck nachos on the menu? Chips were fresh and maintained a crunch. Duck didn't quite taste like an oily duck and nearly confused me with a pork taste. All dishes were presented well, appetizing to the eyes.

Atmosphere - Wallace mentioned they did some renovations and Park Place is full swank. Not your hole in the wall establishment. This restaurant is probably one of the nicer restaurants in Cupertino.

Taste - Out of the 4 dishes we ordered, I loved 3 of them; Sliders, Duck Nachos, and Bread pudding with vanilla bean ice cream. The sliders are hands down the best tasting I've ever had. The bun, cheese, meat, onions, all perfect.

(Dislikes)

Ceviche - I thought the scallops were a bit ripe with the fishy taste.

Prices - I know they use high quality ingredients but this restaurant is very expensive.

Portions - this relates to the sliders, for about $3-4 each, we're talking burgers about the size of a large marshmallow. I can't remember a time where I spent this amount of money for something so small.

(Overall)
I'd easily come back for more tasting. Although I didn't experience the sit down restaurant dining room, I found the lounge served up high quality food better than most restaurants in the area. Prices are steep and if portion sizes were larger, I'd be raising the score by full point.

Wow...

A huge thanks to Jason for the invite to meet with him and Wchane for some amazing eats at Park Place recently... I came in and they were already at the bar relaxing and dining on cerviche. I ordered a glass of my favorite Zinfandel and Jason placed an order for the well talked about Kobe Beef Sliders...

Kobe Beef Sliders with grilled onions and melting Gorgonzola cheese!! TOE CURLING GOOD! Three per order were delivered on a sparkling white platter. The buns looked homemade, not store bought and a side of sauteed or grilled onions adorned the plate. The anticipation was thick... I literally closed my eyes upon first bite. This wasn't a ground patty but a slice of tenderloin. So tender, full of buttery rich beef with the sharp, yet creaminess of melting Gorgonzola - 9.5/10 Heaven! The buns were certainly fresh, and gourmet, nothing like the usual burger bun. So good, Jason ordered a second round.

W-man wanted to try something original and that was the duck nachos... YEAH, DUCK NACHOS! And they were damn good! The meat was shredded and NOT greasy! Full of rich flavor, homemade thick chips, fresh pico, sour cream and black beans... A fun, delicious and sizable appetizer to share. We practically cleaned the plate.. 9/10

I saw the dessert menu and was intrigued by the Brioche Bread Pudding with Homemade ice cream and warm caramel sauce. I use to know one of the bakers here and know everything was scratch made. This came in it's own stoneware oval dish and was hot outta the oven. The Brioche was devine! A rich egg bread with a buttery texture. Just a touch of cinnamon and it was simply delightful. Only slight flaw was charred edges. The homemade vanilla bean ice cream and warm caramel sauce only highlighted the flavors of this amazing dessert. 9.5/10

Great company, a beuatiful environment and attentive bar staff (wchane knows by name!) lovely outdoor setting with fire pit and cozy sofas - a terrific destination.... I also looked at their wine collection and say high five! I see many of my higher end favorites like Testarosa, Ravenswood, Gnarlyhead and Ridge.

A must visit for anyone wanting an intimate environment, top notch inventive appetizers and the ability to impress your company. Maybe I've been eating at too many simple joints, but I was thoughly impressed and enjoyed everything. THANKS JASON & W!

wow...i'm not sure if there's anything else to add after jen's review.

been a fan of this 'local treasure' if one can call it that for quite some time, and even more so after the late remodel.

i've yet to have a proper dinner here, but plan on doing so in the near future. what really seals the deal here for my pals and i is their bartender, dennis specifically and if david is still around. in a town where bartending is a second thought, they pull off a class act.
