We arrived at Alborz for a late dinner. The restaurant was empty but I wasnt too worried, Ive been here a number of times when I lived in Fremont. With Persian cuisine, Im not too picky when it comes to the kabobs. Its all good food to me. Alborz has a nice dining atmoshere with dimly lit lights and beautiful framed photographs along the wall. There was a thermometer next to our table and it read 78 degrees!!! Turn on the air conditioner.

Tonights order included dolma and the joehjoeh saltini (dont know spelling) Dolmas are beef, lentals, wrapped in grape leaves served as an appetizer. I dont know why I keep ordering Dolmas, the grape leaves are an acquired taste...I think I like them??

For the saltini, you get ground beef and chicken kabob with saffron rice and a roasted tomato. My entire was quite pleasing and had very little to complain about. The ground beef was juicy and bursting with flavors. Chicken was white breast meat and tender. Rice was moist and tomato grilled to perfection.

Dinner prices were about average with my meal running ~$14 and appetizers $6. Not bad considering I thoroughly enjoyed my meal.

***Update 8.31.05***
Alborz has closed and now replaced by Bijan, an upscale mediterranean restaurant. Thanks to Martin C. for the update.
