Visited Cafe Buona Sera with the family tonight. Its an Italian and Mediterranean restaurant with a mostly Italian menu. The place was newly opened it appeared and looked very nice inside. It was a bit small but not crowded on this sunday evening.

As we sat down, they brought out bread and oil-vinegar. The bread was fresh and quite tasty. We ate 2 baskets of it until giving up.

I placed my order for the Ravioli Con Pesce, which is pasta stuffed with seafood mousse in a tomato cream sauce. As usual, they didn't give very many raviolis and I found myself not satisfied with the one entree alone. Good thing I ate a lot of bread. The raviolis however tasted excellent. The seafood was not overpowering and was a nice compliment to the pasta. The tomato sauce, though weird sounding with the seafood was actually quite good. I thought it was a perfect italian dish for the evening. The sauce even tasted good with the bread. haha.

I also sampled a slice of my sons cheese pizza. The pizza ingredients were fresh, you could tell the bread was made in house. But it lacked any kind of pizzazz or excitement. Nothing but decently homemade pizza. I wouldn't order this again.

Overall, the place feels like something that would open up in Palo Alto or Mountain View, and was a good alternative to other italian places in Fremont. Definitely better than Pasta? which should be opening up soon where the old Unos used to be.
