This is actually my third meal from Los Cabos. The previous times I didn't have my camera handy, so was very excited that I finally got the opportunity to add this one to Jatbar.

The place can be a bit of a put-off because of the location. It is located amid a flurry of Indian businesses and the parking lot is always full around here because of the neighboring Pakwan but believe me you want to make the stop here.

You walk in and its a good sized place, and is very clean. The music or television isn't blaring obnoxiously loud (at least the times I have been here) and the huge mural on the wall can really take you to another place. The only sound you hear is the cutlery in the kitchen working its magic.

The menu has all of the standard items, perhaps with a slight lean towards the seafood.

I decided to go with the super burrito with shrimp in it. I step up the counter and the owner (who seems to be there every day of the year from what I have heard) already has 2 bowls up chips for me and my family at the counter. And I didn't even order yet. Nice touch. He asks how I've been today in a way that expresses his genuine interest. After taking our orders we are getting money out and another family walks into line behind us and they each say 'hello again' to each other. Its easy to see how this place could become a neighborhood favorite. But does the food measure up to this standard?

The food took a bit of time to arrive because its all being made by this man and his wife perhaps? There is a covered salsa bar with at least 10 selections in it. I sample a few items by dishing them into separate porcelein sauce mini-bowls. Never see that - usually its just a disposable thin plastic mini-bowl. Then we sit down and enjoy the chips and salsa. The chips are the standard store-bought - nothing exciting about them except they are salted. The salsas however are great. The heat is turned up to some degree on all of them. The dark red one, my favorite, is actually quite spicy. Very nice.

The burritos arrive and are not the largest but are definitely hefty portions. My wife, who grew up on burritos in san diego, went with the carnitas burrito and she claims it to be very good. The shrimp burrito I ordered was also very tasty. While I ordered it with refried beans, it didn't get all its flavor from the lard and cheese (like you might find at the Los Gallos taqueria in Fremont) - this one got a lot of flavoring from the vegetables like peppers and onions that are in it, in addition to the delicious rice and beans. The shrimp were a bit on the small side (not the powerhouse prawns like you get at Taqueria Los Cunados in Milpitas) so in the future I would probably be sticking with my standard veggie burrito. As the burrito was completely satisfying in every other way. Prices were a bit on the low end as well, making the meal all the better.

At the end of the meal, the kind man asked us if we enjoyed our meal. Of course our answer was yes. I will definitely be returning again. So far this is my favorite taqueria in Fremont.

This place is ok. I don't know how it can survive next to the bangin' Shalimar but at around noon, the restaurant was almost all full.

As I was walking to the counter to order my food, I was looking at what other people were eating and all the combos plates looked so good and the portions looked HUGE!

I wasn't sure what to get because the menu is pretty big and they even have specials posted on the glass. What is a big no no is that part of the menu is in green (on a blackboard) and it's so difficult to read even when I walk up to it.

I got the fajita burrito (came out to a little over $7) and it was filled with beef (you can get that or chicken), refried beans (or you can get the healthier beans), green bell peppers, rice, guacamole & sour cream. I only ate half and it was very filling! My friend's quesadilla ($2) looked a lot better though - I will have to get that next time.

All the tables here are 4 seater and there are 3 tables that can hold 6-8 people each.
