I have been going to Mission Pine cafe for awhile. In fact I had been there when they were at their old location (at Mission & Pine) YEARS ago. When the head cook, Doug, opened up his own place after the original shut down, many customers moved with him. Its every bit as good. I have only come here for weekend breakfast though their menu has a nice selection of lunch items as well.

If you like Country Way, but hate the crowd, long lines, and embarrasingly large portions, Mission Pines is for you. In my opinion, its just as good yet its a slightly quieter place, and they give you realistic portions.

They also have a slightly larger menu for breakfast. This time around I got the apple cinammon french toast, something you won't find at Country Way, and was pleased with it. Its definitely rich griddle fare at Mission Pine Cafe, but you will go away full and without the worries about having overate or dealing with any leftovers. Give them a try!

**UPDATE 8/31/05 - Sad to say, but Mission Pines has closed their doors after more than 20 years in the current location. We will try to put up a special memoriam page for the place and I will update this review with the URL when its ready to go.
