Is it just me or are all sports bar/restaurants set in the lowest possible lighting available? Boardwalks Restaurants appears to cater to the sports enthusiast while serving below average food.

I ordered a hot dog that took 20 minutes to cook. It was very disappointing having to wait that long considering they were not that busy. Maybe they lost my order?

Was the wait worth it? Unfortunately not...my hot dog was brought out butchered!! Boardwalks cuts their hot dogs down the middle...omg..thats like serving a steak split open. You're letting all the flavor out!!! The beef wasn't even that good, I can do better with Hebrew National from the grocery store. Even the bread was over toasted..sigh..I hate spending money at some restaurant that I can do better at home.

Boardwalks rates in with Fast Food status and might be saved with their pizza. Who knows...Im not going back unless you're buying.

Upon entering this place you are met with an environment that can only be described as a cave. It is VERY dark in here. Nice if you are escaping the blistering sun outside to throw back a few beers and watch some sports match on TV, but for a nice lunch getaway this doens't seem very cheery.

The menu looks promising as they offer a wide assortment of sandwiches, burgers, and pizza. They have a decent selection of beers as well. I have been here before; last time I ordered a Tuna Sandwich. I found it to be fairly good. Nothing to write home about, but nearly worth the relatively high prices they were asking. This time I took a risk to my primarily-vegetarian digestive system and ordered the Reuben sandwich. I knew I would pay for it in stomach aches later, but I had to know if this place was legit.

The sandwich arrived with a pickle and chips. I found the pickle to be good and the chips were, well, chips. The sauerkraut was warm and actually pretty good. The pastrami was VERY salty, and a bit (too?) fatty. I picked a lot of it out as it looked to be more like cheap bacon. The sandwich wasn't that big either. I think Togos gives you a bigger, better tasting Reuben sandwich.

Overall this place is in the same league as St. Johns and I probably will not be returning here either.

Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich

This is a classic American bar. You can get pizza, burger, typical sandwich and a drink. The service is very prompt, the portions are generous. The sandwich was good and it came with lots of fries.

I had the french dip and my son had the pastrami, both were very good.
