Brother's Deli closed their Burlingame restaurant last spring 06 with the intentions of opening another one down Howard street. It's been nearly a year and looks like they have run into snags with zoning and currently in limbo. A couple of weeks back, I was driving on Broadway and ran into Brother's Deli new location. It's a huge restaurant with plenty of seating and much much better lighting. It looks like a real deli now!

The menu contains the same great menu with giant selection of breakfast, sandwich, burger, salads, soups, just about anything for anyone. During my visits to their Burlingame location, I never strayed from their sandwiches and burgers. Their burgers are one of my favorites as they use fresh ground chuck. If it smells like steak, it's going to taste like one. Although tempted with the wonderful bacon cheeseburgers, I went for the Onion Roll Special - onion roll, swiss cheese, pastrami, and corned beef ($9.25).

Onion Roll - moist, yellow bread, kinda sweet, rounded bread covered with tiny bits of well done onions. Very fresh.

swiss cheese - 2 thin slices, one on top and bottom, tasted good to me.

Corned beef (pink meat) - I've had their corned beef a couple of times and today's meat was cut paper thin, much better than previous visits. A generous portion, I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

Pastrami (red meat) - Like corned beef but smoked and peppered. Sliced thin and as pictures don't lie, tall stacks of meat.

french fries - shoestring, just ok, not sure if the plate was worth $1.50 though.

The combination of corned beef and pastrami in one sandwich is a match made for the gods. As with most mortals, we have our limitations as I could only eat 1 side of this monster sandwich. My mouth isn't even big enough to bite the sandwich and had to attack it sideways. I had the remaining half packed up and 2 hours later in front of the TV, I finished it off. I don't know why, but the Millbrae location served much better sandwiches than their Burlingame spot.

Brother's Deli might not be Katz Deli but it's one of the few delis in the bay area where I'd take friends and family for a jewish deli style sandwich. Prices for a sandwich, fries, and drink will be around $13. It's about $1-2 more than I'd like to pay and can be remedied by drinking water instead of a soda. Although there are multiple public parking lots, it took me a good 15 minutes to find an open spot. Other than that, please be sure to visit Brother's Deli as they deserve your business. It's a family run business where service is friendly and inviting.

I can only speak for their sandwiches and burgers and it definitely gets the jatbar nod of approval.
