I was quickly sold on visiting Stephan's Deli once I saw the big signs for Gyros and Falafels. I found parking across the street and walked into what appeared to be liquor, clothing, market, or art store. This Stephan character is a man of many trades which is kinda scary because anytime you offer an all-in-one solution, it's normally a let down.

I don't know where they cook the gyros as the rotating spit wasn't even on. Maybe it's a lunch thing. Also, how the heck are they going to fry my falafels with no deep fryer in sight? It was too late as I ordered my falafel sandwich ($6) already. I even pondered running out of the store.

He (Stephan?) was behind the counter making my sandwich and I watched with disgust as he nuked the falafel balls. There was no way I was eating this here, I had to take this home, take 1-2 bites and wish for the best. The falafel sandwich is a mess of lettuce, tomatoes, parsley, giant falafel ball, hummus, and pita.

There's not too much talk about here but as expected, this had to be the worst tasting falafel sandwich I've ever eaten. I'm not saying this to be mean but hopefully as constructive criticism. The lettuce was wilted, tomatoes soggy, falafel was dry and lacked anything positive value to the sandwich.

Who knows if it was an off day but whatever I ate tonight was one of the lowest ranking meals I've ever eaten. I eat everything and I could not muster the power to finish this falafel sandwich. Lunch time might be a different story and same goes for regular sandwiches but the falafel is a definite miss for me. Sorry Stephan, but maybe it's time to retire the falafel sandwich from the menu.
