Corner location across from the Moutain View Post Office. We decided to eat here because we couldnt find the original restaurant we were looking for.

As we walked past Bangkok Spoon, there were numerous newspaper clippings in the front window praising this establishment. Hmmm...must be good right? We walk in and greeted by a beautiful carved Thai statue. As you look around the room, you immediately notice the exotic asian decor; wooden statues, art, and small shrine in the corner.

I ordered the lunch special, stir fried chicken with coconut flavored rice. The meal came with this awesome looking/tasting iced tea. I normally dont like iced tea but this was definitely the exception. With tea this good..I was looking forward to my meal. The meal arrived and to my dismay, there was barely any chicken. It looked like steamed rice with cucumbers, carrots, onions, and little strands that looked like chicken? The chicken tasted old and rice was very oily. I was disappointed and didnt finish my dish....kind of a letdown with a place that has a nice atmosphere. Who knows...maybe I got the wrong dish?

I ordered their lunch special L1 (Seafood Combination). In addition to the rice plate I also received my choice of Thai Tea or Coffee. I chose the Tea. The tea was very delicious (as it normally is). The combination plate was pretty tasty as well. Nothing out of the ordinary, but satisfying. 80% of it was fried rice, there was also a few vegetables, egg, 2 pieces of shrimp, 1 Mussel, and 2 scallops. It didn't fill me up but was satisfying enough. The taste experience was familiar yet different enough to make it an interesting alternative to the normal routine. The establishment itself was clean and organized. I felt comfortable there.

We were planning to go to a Singapore restaurant, but when we got to Mt. View downtown, we couldn't find it so we settled for this one. I ordered the seafood combo lunch special with a Thai tea. The lunch arrived quickly, the fried rice was weak, tasted more like what you can find in any Chinese restaurant. The portion was ok and the plate itself is about average, nothing to write home about. I guess I am always comparing all Thai restaurants to Krungthai and that's why the rest don't stand out easily. Overall experience is ok but not impressive.
