El Calderon Salvadorian Restaurant is tucked away in a neighborhood far from the busy streets of Mountain View. Im not sure how people would find this family run restaurant but its obvious that El Calderon has their loyal customers. They have been at the same location for 35 years!!!

I was tempted to try their mexican food but why pass up the opportunity to try something new. I can always get mexican food anywhere. Watch out for their chips and salsa, they're quite addicting. We went through 4 bowls of chips. I ordered the Beefsteak Encebollado - Beef cooked in a tomato sauce with onion and bell peppers. If you've ever had Columbian food, they have a dish thats very similar to this. The beef was very tender and tomato sauce had mild seasonings that I'm not accustomed to. Personally, they should get rid of the get rid of the rice and beans and serve it with Plantains or Pupusas. The rice and beans were about average mexican food.

If you want to try something new, be served by friendly employees, and support a family fun business...stop by and visit El Calderon Salvadorian Restaurant.
