It was terrys idea to come to Fiesta Del Mar Too. He had to drag me to come here
1. It was my 3rd mexican food meal in a row 2. Bad vibes from my previous visits 3. Citysearch and Zagats like it...jab-jab..haha
I hate to say it, but I thoroughly enjoyed Fiesta Del Mars atmosphere, service, drinks, and food. Atmosphere is festive with bright colored walls, custom chains with cool engravings, and various wall art. Service was top notch refilled chips, salsa, and water without asking. Fiesta Del Mar has quite the selection of Tequila. Im guilty of ordering a margarita drink that looked like a christmas ornament. Drinking does make everything taste so much better.
I ordered the 2 taco plate carne asada and fish. The plate came with a side of black beans and spanish rice. Tacos were 2 tortillas, celantro, onions, and some pico sauce. It was surprising good...Im kind of annoyed it was this enjoyable. Rice was fluffy with a hint of chicken broth, tomato, bell peppers, and onions. One of the best Ive had..pretty bold statement but its true. Bean were just normal black beans. Theres really not too much you can do with them. I asked for hard shelled tortillas but they gave me soft corn..oh well, it wasnt difficult to finish. Tortillas was average rating...nothing special. The carne asada was off the hook, grilled and tender, just the way I like it. The fish taco had a spicey tomato on top which is a fresh tasting mix. Im not sure what type of fish? probably Mahi-Mahi? It was good.
Although the prices range from $8-14 a plate, I would make a return visit. Fiesta Del Mar Too surprised me with excellent tasting food and service. A well deserved 9!

I had some mixed reservations going here. Citysearch rated these guys pretty high. So it probably aint that good. The prices are WAY high. So it probably aint that good.
Well we get there and its packed. We are shown to a table and given some chips and salsa. The chips are not the best but are not bad. The salsa is pretty darn good. The barbecue-sauce flavored one is my favorite. I place my order for an iced tea and a Shrimp burrito, wet with green sauce.
It takes awhile for the food to arrive but its ok because the place is pretty clean and has lots of nice color and decorations on the walls.
The burrito dish arrives and its not the largest burrito but about average or a little less. It is accompanied by fluffy mexican rice and my choice of beans (I chose refried). The rice is VERY fluffy and tasty (has thick pieces of pepper, carrot and potatoes in it). The refried beans are quite runny, but its OK this time because I pour them onto my rice anyway and mix them up (I just do that). The refried beans are amazing. The mixture is heaven. So far Im liking this place a lot.
I then dig in to my shrimp burrito. I was kind of expecting some large prawn sized shrimp but instead I got a TON of little Safeway shrimp stuffed in with the burritos other ingredients. I was a little disappointed with this. In fact it kind of ruined the burrito for me. The rest of the ingredients were top notch though, especially the green sauce and cheese. The cheese was fantastic.
I would have no problems going back and ordering another dish (maybe just a veggie or bean burrito next time). I will not knock the place down so much for the lousy shrimp as the rest of the meal really blew me away.
As I mentioned, though, the price was high. This meal set me back nearly $18 once tax and tip were taken into account.

I have eaten here several times in the last few years. All my meals have been good, but never stupendous. Portion sizes tend to be on the small side for Mexican food, and the prices are a little on the high side for lunch.
I visited again recently for a group lunch with nine co-workers. We walked in early and grabbed a large table in the side room. I'm a big fan of mole sauce, and it had been a while for me, so I ordered the mole poblano burrito (offered with chicken only). I usually get the mole enchilada, but felt it was time for a change (however minor). The service was excellent. Our waters and chip baskets were filled regularly. They provided a selection of salsa with the chips, a nice touch. The chips were very good and warm, probably made fresh. Yum. We plowed through our baskets and they immediately brought more. Nice. My burrito arrived and I dug in.
burrito – pretty good; I'd say about average; 90% meat inside, which is a plus for some, but I would have appreciated more of a mix, maybe with some onions or cilantro and some rice. Below average size. The meat was not very flavorful by itself and really needed the sauce on top to round it out.
mole sauce – very good, but not the best I've had. I prefer the sauce at La Fiesta down the street. Still, I ate the whole thing.
Pinto beans – pretty good, nothing special
Total cost was $11 without tip, a little on the high side for lunch, but OK considering the nicer service/experience than the normal taqueria. But I can't say I will seek this place out on a regular basis. There are so many options where the food is better and a bit cheaper. Still the atmosphere and décor is nice, so that’s something you are paying for. I would go here again with friends and try one of their many margarita choices, but I would be tempted to go the few extra blocks to La Fiesta.
“Awesome. Haven't been here in a long time, but the quality of food is still excellent. Loud atmosphere. Wife had chicken taquitos and daughter had a chicken taco. All were happy and filled. Sure, it's a bit expensive, but to me it was worth it. 8”

“Expensive, but oooo so good. The sour cream sauce enchillads are great, as are the salads, soups and pick and mix options. They do Chili Relino without the horrible egg covering used by many other places. Good and very long Margarita list.”

“Nice fresh chips with variety of tasty salsas. I love the sour cream sauce on the chicken enchiladasso much that I order this dish each time I come.”
