We were short on time, didnt have a lot of time, didnt have a lot of money...siiizzzlllrrr...well..no...we went to Kaps Pizza Bar and Grill. I wanna say they were closed for a couple of months and probably going under new management or renovation. On the corner of Castro and Villa in Mountain View, its probably a place you would go to with your coworkers since they offer pizza, salads, burgers, and sandwiches...a restaurant to satisfy even the pickiest of eaters.

Since pizza was in the restaurant name, I had to order pizza. I ordered a slice of cheese and pepperoni, $3 for cheese and $3.50 for pepperoni. Slices were large and cut into two.

crust - in between thick and thin. Nothing too special but it was odd to see the bottom of the pepperoni slice swimming in grease. The cheese had a firmer crust and less grease on the bottom. Average tasting.

sauce - hmm..just ok. On a par with your standard pizza places.

cheese - ok, nothing to impress your friends with.

toppings - pepperonis were good. crispy on the top.

Overall their pizza was just ok. There are too many other pizza places that I would rather go to. Kapps is clean and does offer alcohol and many other menu items. Probably would score higher just for a place to hang out with your friends.

I had been to Kapps a few times before and I know its a popular place so have been wanting to review it for awhile. They changed owners recently, so figured it was worth a try. Kapps is 100% standard fare food like Chilis, Spoons, or Applebees. I decided to order the Veggie burger as its something I've never had before at Kapps.

It arrived fairly quickly and there were no surprises. The roll was a french roll and super thick - too thick for the overall burger. A bit too crunchy too. I like to dig in to a burger, not worry about if my mouth will suffer cuts and scratches due to the roughness of the bun. The included veggies were fresh and tasty as was the cheese and veggie burger. My big complaint was the bun.

Fries were decent. Not too bad actually. Overall, I would return again if I was going to have some beers and chew the fat with coworkers during lunch. The semi-private booths are great for this. If I want superb food I think I will skip Kapps.

I went there with my 2 other friends on a Thursday
night. It usually isn't busy at night time on Monday
to Thursday.

I ordered a Grilled Chicken Sandwich
One friend ordered a Hamburger (medium rare)
The other friend ordered a small Pepperoni Pizza.

My chicken wasn't dried, which was a plus. It came
with fries, cheese, pickles, a few slices of tomatos,
and a lettuce leaf. The fries was ok; nothing special
there.

First friend said the patty of the burger was very
juicy. She didn't eat the fries too much though.

The small pepperoni pizza is 8'. It's good enough for
two people. The pizza is pretty much the same as any
average pizza. The crust was not burnt; yet, it
wasn't raw either. Warning: really greasy.

Food (1-5): 3
Service (1-3): 2. Ok service. Nothing exceptional.
Price (1-2): 2. Ok price for the food quality
Overall: 7

Kapp Burger

7 rating is about right. Burger was OK. Fries were excellent, crispy on the outside, soft inside. Menu seems small for such a big place.
