I know people will be disappointed to find out Fu Lam Mum has been replaced with Minh's. Fu Lam Mum was a late night restaurant serving authentic Chinese food. If you remember how run down Fu Lam Mum used to be, it's been replaced with a beautiful looking Vietnamese place. If they had a show pimp your restaurant, Minh's would be a prime candidate.

They had to have spent a fortune to get this place. The art frames on the walls are serious $$$$. Each table had fresh cut flowers, elegant tableware, and yet you can order a simple bowl of pho.

My lunch order consisted of shrimp and pork with vermicelli noodles. In image 6, you'll see a bed of greens which I used to make my Vietnamese tacos. To this day, I don't even know if there's a proper way to eat this plate. I normally take a large piece of lettuce, mint/cilantro, toss some stringy noodles, grilled shrimp/pork, some of the sweet/lime/fish sauce, roll my food, and eat.

Shrimp/Pork had an excellent grilling to it. Although the pork was thinly sliced, it wasn't overcooked. Same story for the sweet shrimp and if I recalled correctly, they gave me 4 shrimps. I doubt you can see them in the picture but they are under the pork in image 6. Decent portion size that left me full.

I don't remember how much the meal was and quite honestly, I don't care. Service was fast and it was a good tasting meal I would easily come back for. Sure you can get this exact same meal for $3-4 dollars less at your hole in the wall pho joint but there are times where it's more enjoyable to sit in a beautiful dining environment. I like Minh's restaurant for both the atmosphere and the food.

Very nice interior - helps that it was brand new of course. I went with the small Pho with no meat. Service was a bit slow for Pho, but probably because Jason's order took awhile to make. Waitress was nice and attentive.

When Pho arrived it was of good size. The broth had a faint mint flavor - a bit different from the standard Pho - more flavorful for sure. Prices were a bit higher, but for the quality of the place it was definitely justified.

An easy return, good stuff

Minh’s is a trendy Vietnamese cuisine restaurant. I visited the one in Brentwood. All their dishes are plated so it’s pleasing to the eyes. Their food is pleasing to the smell and palate as well. Prices are on the high end and service and quality are also up there as well.

I was able to sample several appetizers and main course items when I was up there.

Shrimp rice rolls: Standard flare but large prawns stuffed in the rice wraps.

Fried shrimp and yams: Average portion size but excellent flavors and not too greasy.

Grilled cat fish: served with some type of thin crispy flat bread, vermicelli noodles, peanut sauce, basil, peanuts, and onions. Cat fish was full of flavour and flaky.

Eggrolls: Deep fried to a crisp, not too greasy. Stuffed with shredded chicken.

Grilled beef: A bowl of grilled tender beef soaked in their sweet liquid served with vermicelli noodles.

Beef Pho: Excellent soup base with the beef being tender. Enough vermicelli noodles.
