I don't think I have had a better deli experience. The place is not located in the best part of town and is surely out of the way. We trekked out there and the family was getting a bit anxious and I was hoping this would really deliver. And it DID.

The lines were a bit long on this lunch hour, but not unreasonable. The menu was sparse, but everyone was getting the corned beef or the pastrami. I settled on the Reuben. For $15 it was the most expensive sandwich that wasn't at a theme park. lol. I stood at the counter while the lady made it, and she setup a small plate and sliced a few pieces of the pastrami on it for me to munch on while the sandwich was being prepared. She also grabbed a huge amount of pickles for the side. Amazing amount of pickles. I don't see how anyone could finish all the pickles they give with each sandwich.

You get your food, drinks, etc, and pay on the way out. The place is truly crowded and a bit touristy, but the place has the goods, so its not unreasonable. I didn't feel nervous taking pictures of my food here at all. Everyone was. lol.

The sandwich was FANTASTIC. Sauerkraut was plentiful, mustard was fresh and tangy. The pastrami was out of this world good. Yeah a bit greasy but it really soaked in the flavor. My wife got the pastrami and we both finished our sandwiches easily. That doesn't mean the sandwiches were small. They were monstrous, but it was so good you couldn't leave anything on your plate.

If I recall correctly, the canned soda drinks were super pricey ($1 - $2) and they had beer on tap. And for the record, I finished all my pickles. ;-)

Katz is all about the meat. Two thin slices of bread with a slather of mustard on just one slice, the rest is all meat, about 1.5 to 2 inches of meat. This is not your typical deli eat style, but real thick slices of corned beef and pastrami.

The corned beef is good but a little on the dry side. The Pastrami is the one to get. Moist lean with fatty meat, a lot of flavor (grease) and only $0.50 more than the corned beef. These sandwiches are expensive. Two bags of steak fries, three sandwiches, coleslaw (some spicy mustard or horseradish flavor), and some free pickles for $56.

You only need to order one bag of steak fries and easily share among three people. Everything here is huge and could cause problems for some to finish up a full sandwich.

Accepts credit cards.

Steak Fries: skip
Cole Slaw: A nice kick and unique.
Corned Beef: 7.5/10
Pastrami: 9/10
