Upscale looking Malaysian Street Hawker food

'Street Hawker Food' was the clincher for me. I had to try it. We got there, and the place looked a lot nicer than I was anticipating from the street hawker bit. Scanning the menu, I saw a lot of familiar Thai and Malaysian dishes. I brought my family there and they seemed to enjoy it. We started off with the Roti and my kids enjoyed those. Sweet and thick like a pancake. I wanted to go with the crab dish with tomato and egg, but they were out of crab, so substituted the prawns. I must say it turned out equally well. My one qualm was that they didn't take the shells off the prawns, so I had to do that myself (no way am I eating them with that crunchy shell). So it was a messy affair, but oh so good. Prices were not cheap, but not unreasonable for the cuisine. Service was above par and the place was completely packed on this friday night. I cannot wait to return to sample more of the dishes. I am being a little down with the 8.5 as I want to try more. This score could shoot up to a 9 with another favorable dish. Had the prawns been de-shelled and the crab that I wanted was available, this would have been a 9 already. I look forward to a return visit to Red Kwali.
