Tonight I ordered 2 tacos; carnitas, carne asada, and got to try pollo asado taco and cheese enchiladas plate. I thought the tacos were overpriced at $2 each considering I can drive another 5 miles to get better ones for $1 each. Carnitas - out of the 3 meats I tried, it was the best one, very tender, needs to be crunchier. Carne Asada - below average, the asada was cut way too small making them dry. Pollo Asado - gross...the chicken was probably 1 day old and had this weird sauce on it. I dont even think the taco was finished. Cheese enchiladas - beans melted in your mouth, rice was fluffy, plenty of cheese in the enchiladas, veggies were fresh. I can see why a vegetarian would like this place; rice, beans, cheese, veggies were all good. If you're a meat eater like myself, you might find yourself disappointed. Taqueria Los Portales squeeks by with a 7.

It was my first time there so wasn't sure what to expect. WOW. This place blew me away. The tortillas were thrown on the grill so were almost crunchy. The beans were normal pinto but the mixture of this burrito was just right. The guacamole and sour cream in my super grilled shrimp burrito was perfect. The rice as moist and tasty. The grilled shrimp were superb, but the rest of the burrito was what really sold me. It was average size for a super burrito so filled me up. I look forward to returning here and trying more of their burritos.
