This was a LONG standing request from Imprezzy. I had driven by this place COUNTLESS times and today we BARTed it into Oakland and decided to walk over and try it out. It was nice to see that there was nearby parking as well as Valet parking as well. The place looked like it probably got busy on the weekend, but this late Sunday afternoon lunch was not that busy. We got a table quickly.

This place, while it might be cleaner than other places in Oakland Chinatown, was not particularly clean - but I've been in many worse places, so it wasn't too bad. Many of the waiters running around with dim sum carts do not speak english, so trying to request something was a problem for us. We did flag down the one younger guy who understood us and he was very helpful.

Let me run down what we tried.

Bok Choy - Warm and crunchy, but not quite as tasty as I've had elsewhere. I'm sure this was due to the fact that we arrived late in the afternoon. I still ate quite a few of this dish.

Large Shrimp Balls - Not sure what this is officially called, but it was REALLY good. Larger than a normal shrimp ball, more like a shrimp eggroll wrapped in tofu. Excellent stuff.

Pig Intestines - Its safe to say that I did NOT eat this. My wife requested this and she said it was among the best she has ever had. Thats all I will say about that.

Shrimp and Mushrooms - It looked better than it tasted. The mushroom flavor was very strong and good, but the shrimp was hardly tasted. The sauce was a bit too muted and overall all you can taste is the mushroom.

Shrimp/Pork/Tofu dim sum - The waiter told us it was tofu, and it was. But she didn't mention the pork in there. But I sampled it and found it to be good. The tofu especially was very thin but not delicate. The shrimp was large and tasty. If it didn't have the pork, I would order this again.

Overall I wasn't too impressed with the selection of dim sum going around. I think its because its not the safe stuff. A lot of hardcore items that I just couldn't bring myself to order, nor would I even know what to call them. A lot of stuff like the pig intestines. I'm sure this is a great place for people who enjoy the more exotic meat items.
