I have been looking for a mediterrean style food for awhile now...finally found one that I will be able to visit more often. The people that work here are nice and serve up mediterranean/middle eastern style food. The food here is legit.

I think the prices are excellent for the quality of food you get here. I ordered the Shawerma plate @ $7.99. It comes with a giant mound of lamb, tahini, hummus, mixed veggies, fallafel, and pita bread. Too much food too eat..I was stuffed. My co-worker got the Kufta Kabab plate..holy crap, they top it off with crack (you get the point). I was going to rate this place an 8 based on my Shawerma dish but had to bump it a point because of the Kufta Kabab plate.

I also had 1 fallafel ball on my plate...probably a good thing because I could have eaten 1/2 dozen.

Refreshingly delicious. If you are in the mood for mediterrean food in a hurry and don't want to deal with sit-down accomdations then this place is for you. Just walk off from the sidewalk and you are standing in line. The specials are listed right above the counter. Place your order (I got the Super Falafel Wrap) and walk down and pay. Quick, simple, TASTY. The Falafels here are AMAZING. Probably the best ones I've ever had. The manager is VERY friendly, greets you warmly and bids you farewell just as nicely. But lets get back to the food. The wrap is basically a super-burrito tortilla with eggplant, falafel, salad, sauces, peppers, etc all wrapped together. The Super didn't fill me up like a super burrito does, but it held me over quite nicely. I have been to this place two times now and would easily go back many more. The only downside is that its hard to find seating. The first time I took my food back to the Jatbar office, the second time the weather was nice enough that I just ate on a bench. The outside and inside tables were all full.

Probably this kind of food is just not my cup of tea. I don't dig the food at all. I ordered the falafel deluxe warp and this thing taste like....... no taste. It's not salty, not sweet, not spicy, nothing. I felt like I was chewing on some leaves and some soft veggie thing wrapped in a tasteless thing. Again, I am rating this place based on my preference. Then again, aren't we all are?

I have been eating lunch here on and off for about three years. This one of my favorite lunch spots in Palo Alto.

The food is delicious and relatively cheap. A good-sized falafel wrap runs less than $5 and will fill you up. The falafel balls are tasty and have a nice texture. For another dollar, they make a super falafel wrap by adding potatoes and eggplant. This adds more bulk than flavor IMHO. Shwarma wraps are around $6 and filled with delicious, moist meat. You can get any wraps with spicy sauce if you like. I usually get a shwarma plate. Picture your plate piled high with tasty meat (chicken or beef/lamb), done to perfection (no dry meat here), mediterranean salad, hummus and pita. Yum.

Service – The service is friendly and quick. When the owner is there, he mans the cash register. He is super outgoing and likes to chat and joke with all the customers. Everyone is referred to as “my friend” as in “how are you my friend?” or “good to see you my friend!”. If he likes your style he might decide to add an extra falafel ball to your plate for good measure. Make his day by asking if he has Lebanese coffee (strong!)

Setting – Nothing special. Its narrow and cramped and there are only a few tables inside and a few on the sidewalk. This place gets very crowded at peak lunch hour and sometimes the line to order spills out onto the sidewalk. Limited seating room means you may be forced to find a bench outside or do carry-out.

Kufta Kabab wrap

Would've been almost a religious experience if not for the juicy mess it made near the end. Still, I'd get this again in a heartbeat. Man, I love this place!

Kufta Kabab Plate

This place has moved two doors down and added some seating, including a nice area in back. This rates it a 9.0 in my book now!
