We were on our way to Redwood city fireworks and found Bangkok Bay. Never heard or seen this place before but our stomachs didnt care. The place looks small on the inside but surprisingly larger on the inside. Quiet atmosphere offering a healthier approach to Thai cuisine as the menu states no MSG in their dishes.

I ordered beef satay with bbq thai chicken while my friend ordered chicken with peanut sauce. It was a short wait to get our food and luckily we were in no rush. First the beef satay arrived with a peanut sauce and cucumber side. Beef was tender and side sauces were a good compliment to the appetizer.

The bbq chicken arrived and I started to kick myself in the head. I wasnt disappointed with the dish its just that I probably should have gotten something strictly thai. BBQ chicken is pretty much standard across the board with slight variations. The serving was larger than normal, I would guess they had over half a chicken on the plate. Tender and light on the seasonings. Id order it again.

My dishes were ok but the Chicken with Peanut sauce had little taste. It looks like boiled the chicken and didnt strain it enough. When they added the peanut sauce it became diluted with water. We had to resort to using the peanut sauce from the appetizer dish. Could have used more spinach too, you can barely see any in the picture.

Bangkok Bay requires another visit for me as I should have gotten pad thai or a curry dish. Service was excellent, waitress was friendly, waters were filled, clean environment, and prices were good, enough reasons for you to try it.

my 1 restaurant choice

I do not eat out much. A) I'm cheap B) I make better food at home than the vast majority of restaurants I have ever been to. Bangkok is an exception. Great food at a great price with excellent service. My rating: 9
