Good Philly Cheese Steak are hard to come by. I stumbled onto Jersey Joes by accident on my way home last friday. I had already eaten at Ben Franks earlier so I decided to swing by on Sunday. Lunch time and I've starving...it was time to head over to Jersey Joes. Jersey Joes looks like your typical sports bar; serve beer, big screen tvs, sports posters/banners, and east coast car license plates.

I decided to order Cheese Steak lunch special; cheese steak, fries, and medium drink. Cheese Steaks are 1/2 pound of thinly sliced rib eye with gobs of melted cheese. The meat is almost paper thin and grilled to perfection. Its a big serving...I couldn't even finish it. Maybe I felt guilty..this thing looks like it can clog any artery but we're not here for your health.

If you're not interested in Cheese Steaks, Jersey Joes also serves;Hoagies regular sandwiches, burgers, and 2 types of veggie sandwiches (grilled cheese and 3 cheese hoagie).

Three word review for Jersey Joes - Cheese Steak Heaven. This place is awesome and should be tried if you ever have the craving for authentic East Coast Philly Cheese Steak.

I read Jason's review wrong and thought I could get a vegetarian Philly cheese sandwich here, so I was excited to come here and get one. I really really like those, with grilled vegetables and cheese and a toasted bun and sometimes some kind of fake lunchmeat, but they are very and inexplicably hard to find. So I was really disappointed when I arrived and saw only a grilled cheese sandwich and a 3-cheese hoagie as vegetarian possibilities on the sandwich menu.

I got the hoagie and some onion rings. The hoagie was very, very heavy on the cheese, and light on the tomatoes and lettuce, but all quality ingredients. The bread was good, and the oil on the sandwich was nice. I could barely fit the last bite in and was very satisfied. The onion rings were slightly above average, but nothing great.

This is not a great place for vegetarians (duh). For a cheese sandwich they did it pretty well, but I'm in no rush to get back for a mere cheese sandwich.

Cheesesteak Lunch

So-so sandwich: could barely find the cheese and veggies, overall kinda dry, and the roll was too chewy. But the fries, crisp on the outside, steaming on the inside, were heavenly.

Philly Cheesteak and an Italian Hoagie

You guys need to get back an revisit! Ever since they were in San Mateo and gradually moving their way down south, I've been a fan! The Cheesteaks are quite tasty, but not quite authentic, using a different bread that doesn't break apart. Justeat
