Bill's Place is located on Clement st in the Richmond district San Francisco. Its refreshing to see mom and pop restaurants operating after so many years of service especially with so many burger chains to compete against. Whats so special about Bill's? For starters, the beef they use is a much higher quality beef than you can get at McDs or B*rger K*ng. The atmosphere resembles an old burger joint with the exception that this place has probably been around for 40+ years. You will have to see for yourself.

I went with the Famous Bill Burger.

Meat - one third of a pound, meat was crumbly, lean, cooked medium, fried on a grill...tasted like grandmas cooking. Very good.

Toppings - fresh vegetables, a little heavy on the mayo...I had to wipe the excess off.

Bun - toasted sesame bun, tasted fresh

Fries - good stuff, I had some onion rings and they were burned, the curly fries were ok (I personally like the ones at JIB better...my guilty pleasure)

Overall, I loved the 50s atmosphere and homestyle cooking. The burger was wonderful but I think the patty could have used seasoning. From what I recall, my taste buds could not detect any salt or pepper. Some burger purists might prefer this style but I like a little spice in my life. Would I come back? You can bet on that, I want to order another burger and relax on the back patio.
