Blondies Pizza has been one of my favorite pizza places ever since I was a kid. There pizza hasn't really changed in the last 15 years and prices still reflect that outstanding value. For less than $4, you can grab a big 1 topping slice.

Crust - Slight garlic butter brushed on the end. Crust is thick and when served fresh, almost tastes like french bread. With other pizza places, I usually toss it out because its my least favorite part but I'll make the exception for Blondies. Sauce - Tangy tomato sauce, great mix of ingrediants, excellent flavor. Cheese - Good cheese, just enough to cover the top.

You can't go wrong with Blondies Pizza...its cheap, large portion, and its tastes dammmmnnn goood. Rates in with a solid 8.5.

Like with 24-hour restaurants, there is a serious and painful lack of by-the-slice pizza places around here. (Telegraph avenue in Berkeley is an exception with an embarrasment of riches. A Blondie's, a Fat Slice, and Top Dog all within a block or two. It's enough to make you sick. Those spoiled Cal students . . .) The Bay Area (especially south) and the world in general need many more of them. A Blondie's on every corner, I say. And especially on the corner by any venue that plays shows. And it should be open really late (like, after shows) and have big, cheap bottles of juice and cookies and tables and windows where you sit and chat about the show and what percentage of your viewing time was spent looking at each person on stage (or off the stage as the case may be). How can I make this happen? One person can make a difference! Join me in my quest! Umm, anyway, back to Blondie's.

It's good, solid pizza. Crust isn't too bland like so many other pizzas. Cheese isn't too much or too chewy like many others. It's not so much that it's so great as it is that it just doesn't suck in any way. It's probably an 8, but when you factor in price (a $2.25 slice of cheese is often enough to fill you up) and atmosphere (I can't explain why, I just like it. I've had good times here (at both Berkeley and SF locations), I guess) Blondie's gets a 9.5. I mean, really, if you want a slice of pizza (and you're not one of those people who absolutely can't even stand and are even hostile to any kind of pizza that is not super-thin, super-crispy, and burned) what more could you want?

A Blondie's on every corner! Chant with me!

I wouldn't take friends and family here on a meal outing but I've definitely love the fact they're open super late and after a hard night of drinking they'll never let you down.
