Burgermeister has 3 locations in San Francisco and I figured the Cole Valley location would be the easiest one to visit. I'm pretty much a noob in this neighborhood and even considered leaving because of the horrendous parking situation. Parking in Cole Valley sucks, plain and simple. San Francisco locals have it easy with taxis, buses, bike, and metro. Burgermeister sits in front of Metro N (Judah, Blue line).

The big draw at Burgermeister are the Niman ranch meats. For non-meat eaters, they have 3 types of Vegi Burgers; Garden, Bocca, and Portobello. And if you have to stray off the burgers, they have sandwiches and salads. For boozers, beers on tap and wine.

I ordered a cheddar cheeseburger, fries, and water for less than $10. As always with my burgers, I get it medium cooked. The wait for my plate was about 10 minutes and it's served open face. The patty weighs 1/2 lb and cooked over a flame grill. Beautiful char markings and cooked to pinkness. The meat was super juicy and not too fatty. High quality meat and the taste ranks very high in my burger rankings. Sesame bun, soft, eat the burger fast or the juices will make the bun soggy. Veggies were green leaf, red onions, tomato, no mayo, and no mustard. Fries were crisp and on the average taste, I think they needed to change the oil.

Burgermeister burgers are one of the best in the city. I'm approaching 50 burger reviews in the bay area and Burgermeister will easily be in my Top 10 rankings. The atmosphere is laid back and prices are right. The ingredients are top-notch as well as their service. Burgermeister even boasts the badge of cleanliness on the front window, 98% rating from the health department.

I warned you guys about the parking but with patience and luck, finding a spot will guarantee you a ticket to burger ecstasy. For you burger connoisseurs out there, Burgermeister should not be MISSED.

although this was quite a few years ago, this was the best burger i ever had. top quality meat used, niman ranch i believe. and if this is the location right by the street car stop, then this will be the best place you ever have a burger. Period.
