Its about time I find a descent deli place in the bay area. East Coast West Delicatessen satisfies my deli cravings with quality meat and fresh bread. Located on Polk St. in San Francisco, restaurant has a modern look with photographs decorating the walls.

To conduct my deli meat test, I either order a plain corned beef or pastrami sandwich. For todays order, I got a hot pastrami on kaiser roll. If you order the kaiser roll, it comes as 2 small sandwiches. All sandwich orders come with; potato salad, macoroni salad, or coleslaw.....sigh I cant eat of those side...blaaah. The waitress asked if I'd rather have carrot salad, I said sure, I'll give anything a try. gaaaawww dammmn that was gross. I think it was pickled carrots with raisins.....soooo nasty. Back to my sandwich, the pastrami was cut paper thin and they stacked a bunch of meat on my sandwich. The meat almost melts in your mouth yet it doesnt have that fatty flavor. Awesome....one of the best deli cuts I've had. Fries are good too, they are shoestring style and extra crunchy.

Unfortunately, the lunch ended up being $26 for 2 people??? Thats 2 sandwichs, 2 cokes, and 1 bowl of fries. With a $5 tip, the lunch ended up being $31. Its kind of expensive but its worth every penny.
