Joes Cable Car serves one of the BEST BURGERS in the Bay Area! Omg..there burgers are sooo damm good. Located on Mission street near Silver, this burger stand has its own parking so you wont have to worry about looking for parking. When you first walk in, you cant help but notice the obnoxious neon lights and signs but it is a unique atmosphere. On one side of the restaurant is the butcher window where they trim the fat off the beef chuck and ground the steak into patties. The patties are large with sizes ranging from full, 4oz, 6oz, and 8oz.

It was around 3pm and the restaurant wasnt so packed so keep that in mind on your visit. Ive heard it gets really busy here.

I ordered the 8oz Cable Ground Steak Burger with american cheese cooked medium. After a short wait, my burger finally arrived open face with toppings on the side tomato, bermuda onions, lettuce. For condiments, mayo and yellow mustard. Looking good so far.

Bun - excellent....fluffy with a slight toast to it. I like their bread better than Vals burger but on a par with Fuddruckers. Yes, thats not a typo, Fuddruckers has tasty buns.

Toppings - fresh tasting, lettuce was a tiny sheet and tomato was a sliver. still good though

Beef - oh damm, the meat is 2nd to none. Its very lean and crumbly. I dont recall burger meat tasting this good. Theres no special sauce or seasonings, just the natural steak flavoring (Maybe minuscule amounts of salt and pepper).

Fries - a little bit thicker than shoestring fries...skins attached...fresh stuff.

The service is EXTREMELY friendly and helpful. They were very attentive to my needs. Example...I was pouring some ketchup on my plate, the waiter noticed the ketchup bottle was almost empty, she proceeded to bring a brand new bottle to me. I didnt even ask her. They must have stopped by 2-3 times asking how my meal was, if I needed anything else. I gotta give them props for treating me right.

If I had to rate the burgers and service, we are easily looking at a 9.5 to a 10!! The food is that good. So whats the deal with me giving a 8.5? Well, what do you think of this... 8oz Cable Ground Steak burger with cheese, small fries, and medium coke....drum roll.....$17.11!!! Holy crap....I was a bit embarrassed because I wanted to give the waiter a 20% gratuity for their excellent service but all I had was a $20. How the f*ck does a burger meal cost $20!!! That is insane...for a couple of more dollars, I can grab prime rib at House of Prime Rib! Joes Cable Car is way too expensive. If you are willing to sell out the money, you will receive excellent burgers but there are other burger places in the Bay Area for half the price.
