My cousin Charlotte was getting her hair done somewhere on Clement street in San Francisco. We decided to take her son Hunter to get some ice cream. Well, I kinda orchestrated that we'd run into an ice cream shop I'd known about for awhile, Toy Boat Dessert Cafe, and I'd pretend it was for Hunter and not me...haha.

We arrived at Toy Boat Dessert Cafe around mid-afternoon and there was plenty of people already inside. I grabbed a table and had my brother order me a single Green Tea Ice Cream.

Speaking of green, there are hundreds of toys on display but the one that really caught my eye was this oddball figurine of the "Little Green Sprout" from Jolly Green Giant. You know...ho ho ho Greeeeen Giant. Well, the Little Green Sprout was the sidekick and had no idea they even had a toy made for him. You can spend hours trying to identify all the toys on display. It's kinda weird though as most of the toys are from my generation. Hunter is 4 years old and I'll wager he doesn't recognize 90% of the toys.

My green tea was smooth and better than most ice cream desserts I get at japanese restaurants. The ice cream is very good and recognized the Double Rainbow Ice Cream logo on the window. You can pickup this ice cream at local stores but doubt you can get the exotic flavors.

Hunter's ice cream was plain vanilla and topped off with a green M&M. He held good restraint as I had to keep him still for a picture or two. It's tougher than it looks, imagine holding a kid's ice cream cone away from his mouth while I snap pictures away. I'm an evil cousin.

It's tough to not love Toy Boat Dessert Cafe. The toy museum alone deserves a visit by itself. I've never had the service food here but I did see more than 3 tables ordering from the menu. Toy Boat Dessert Cafe is a fun place to be and the ice cream will have you screaming for more.

Parking on Clement can be tricky but if you were to rate it against other parts in San Francisco, Clement is easy. Metered parking on Clement and if you want to walk 3-4 blocks, try Geary or Arguello or California. Bonus points for staying open late, Sun-Thu open until 11PM and Fri-Sat until 12AM.

The place is FUN! The vintage toys that adorn the walls make me feel like a grade schooler being taken out by my parents for a treat. The ice cream is good of course and there are some sandwiches on the menu but for me it is about the environment.
