For the last couple of weeks my co-worker Sean and I have been hitting the breakfast scene during lunch time. We try to pull others to join in on the late breakfast but most decline. I don't why? Breakfast can be eaten 24 hours a day as far as I'm concerned. Today we headed off to a breakfast spot known as Bill of Fare. This place isn't too hard to find, just look for the red tiled barn looking building next to the gas station.

I remember seeing a sign somewhere in the restaurant stating omelets were the thing to get and ordered the hefty "The Feather Omelet". Sean ordered the gut busting pigs in a blanket with french fries. He's got the oddest eating habits that can only be explained as a carnivorous grease monkey.

We sat there and chatted about the relics that covered the walls at Bill of Fare. One of the things that stuck out for me is the candy counter. If the restaurant was old enough, they'd have a glass counter filled with candy bars and gum. When I was a kid, after we finished our meal, we'd take the check to the counter and pay. If I was well-behaved, I'd get to pick a treat.

The meal was cooked up in less than 5 minutes and I'm not exaggerating. It was frickin' fast. My plate is enormous and already thinking the post lunch coma.

feather omelet (image 8) - 2 giant slices of buttered wheat bread, about a large potatoes worth of home fries, and a monster omelet containing; ham, tomatoes, onions, cheese, and mushrooms.

The home fries had little seasoning and oil. Use of tabasco is much needed and brought the flavor to the next level.

ooohh..the eggs, the hurt that was to come in 3 hours, the porcelain prophecy as I call it. I knew if I was to eat something this large and greasy and filled with large chucks of ham and vision inducing american cheese, bad things could happen at work. For the love of jatbar, I must do it. The 1st couple of bites were just plain deadly. Every bite had globs of cheese with cubes of ham. The cubes of ham alone had to be in the 1/4lb range. The menu said it was 2 large eggs, I beg to differ and say 1 ostrich egg. The eggs were cooked perfect and fluffy. The veggies inside were lightly grilled and a good compliment.

The feather omelet isn't for the weak and shouldn't be ordered if you're watching your weight. You would not believe how generous Bill of Fare is with their portions. I had enough fat in the this meal to fuel me for the rest of the week. If you can get past the guilt, this high caloric meal will you dozing by 2PM.

Bill of Fare conquered Jason of Jatbar. I could not finish the meal but left happy knowing I just overdosed of a bunch of good tasting fat. Breakfast is the thing to get and atmosphere belongs to the 80's. Bring you appetite and leave your attitude at the door. Bill of Fare caters to the common man serving huge portions at reasonable prices.

Have a friend that I haven't seen in a few years that lives three blocks from here. They're super busy on the weekends for obvious reasons..... Portions are enough to provide you with lunch and dinner the next day. I'm not kidding.......
