I apologize for this overdue review. It's been almost 2 months and my brain is shot with the details of the restaurant. I guess the important thing is I love this restaurant. It's an easy return visit for the fresh tortillas and delicious baked goods.

Ordering is done at the counter with the meals delivered to your table. Warm chips and salsa heavy on tomatoes. Atmosphere is relaxed and customers are a mix of businessmen and young adults. Casa Vicky keeps the restaurant extra clean, it was spotless. While waiting for my carnitas burrito, I placed an order for churros to take back to work. They take about 15 minutes to cook up.

Burrito arrived and tortilla was moist and thank gawd they didnt steam. It didn't look like a fatty pancake but more of a heathier tortilla. Good flavor and rates above average. Rice was moist, beans were beans, and carnitas were stewed, nothing crunchy, lean tasting. Overall the burrito was above average.

My churros arrived and they were warm. Oh boy, I haven't had a fresh churros since my days in TJ off one of those portable deep fryer churro-chooting machine. I couldn't wait to get back to back to work, so as I was driving away from Casa Vicky, I savored these warm, cinnamon smelling, chewy texture sweet goodies. It was sooooooo good, all I needed to make this perfect was a bittersweet hot chocolate. I arrived back at worked and announced the still warm dough sticks. It was a complete hit with all my co-workers. Most of them never had fresh churros and agreed it was the best they've had.

Casa Vicky is a winner and I forsee many more years of success at this family establishment.

Casa Vicky was a little bit of a drive for us, but we arrived fairly quickly and found good parking across the street. The place was a bit packed when we entered, which was a good sign.

We walked up to the counter to place our order. I spied the tortilla maker on the way in (hard to miss it actually) so had to go with the Super Veggie Burrito. I also ordered a mini cheese quesodilla to get some more sampling of the tortillas.

The wait time was a bit long, probably because we were behind a large group of people. So I am not deducting points. In the meantime, we had some chips to munch on. The chips were crunchy and fresh tasting, yet not too greasy. Perhaps a bit more salt would have made them award winning, but they were pretty good as is. Salsa was just OK.

The burrito arrived and it was massive as could be expected. I cut it up and looked inside. Carrots, broccoli, bell peppers, all fresh from the grill. I think I even spied an olive in there! And the usual rice and beans, sour cream and guac. If there was any cheese in there, I couldn't taste any. That was the one downside of this burrito. I should have specified cheese in there (or more cheese). The burrito was surprisingly good. The beans were pinto but very soft so they were good. The rice was average, nothing special. The vegetables though were highlight. I wouldn't call it healthy, but it was definitely a change from the standard taqueria veggie burrito. The tortilla was warm and melted in the mouth. Wasn't poofy like the Chevys ones are from the tortilla machine (so I still rate the Chevys ones higher) but they were better tasting than 90% of the taquerias out there. I had no problem finishing this burrito.

I was too full to continue eating, yet forged ahead with the mini cheese quesodilla. It had cheese overkill (which made up for my burritos lack of cheese). It was tasty and gave me more opportunity to sample the tasty tortilla.

If you are looking for a no nonsense mexican dining experience thats cheap and high quality, Casa Vicky is the place. There is no gimmicky sauce or anything like that, just high quality ingredients and friendly service here.

I came into the restaurant not feeling very hungry so I split a Super Burrito (flour tortilla filled w/ choice of meat, rice, beans, garden salad cheese, guacamole, & sour cream - $5.75) with a friend. The burrito turned out to be a lot smaller than we expected; it's practically a regular size burrito at some other places I've been to. I liked how they included guacamole because surprisingly, I've encountered many places that charge extra for it. The large Horchata ($2.75) was good, very cold and had a stronger cinnamon flavor.

Initially, I wanted to order the Carne Asada Fries ($9.95) thinking that it was the inside of a burrito but just layered on a bed of fries when in fact, it was broiled steak simply served NEXT to some french fries. I suggest they add Carne Asada over fries to their menu - it's typically a favorite among other Mexican restaurant patrons (especially in Southern California).

However, the sight of my friend's order left me salivating. He ordered two huge tamales (beef, chicken, or pork filling, wrapped in masa & steam-cooked in corn husks - $2.75 each) and three mini soft carne asada tacos (topped with cilantro and onions - $1.95 each).

One of the positives about this restaurant is definitely the different sizes you can get your tacos/burritos in: mini, regular and super. Most Mexican restaurants only have huge portions and sometimes, you just don't want to eat unntil you feel like throwing up. And this way, you can have a little bit of everything.

The restaurant is fairly clean and spacious - big groups would do well here. I'd give the cleanliness of the bathrooms a five out of ten (ten being spotless/bacteria-less). If you eat in, they actually bring your plate to you which I have not experienced often. I went on a Saturday afternoon around noon and it was not packed at all. Prices are reasonable and the menu offers a great variety which would make return visits a great possibility, if I'm in the area that is.
