This is a personal wish list of mine and could be the new contender for taqueria dive. Here are just some of the key points of selling you to visit El Sol Market.

- no menu listed anywhere
- it's a taqueria attached to a market
- prices are fairly cheap
- the counter outside is this 1 foot plank (picture #4)
- no napkin dispenser on any of the tables
- litter everywhere in the parking lot
- primary language was spanish

I'm not sure if you're suppose to order through the ripped screen window or inside. Since I had to smuggle pictures, we went inside to place the orders. There is no menu but I assume it's burritos and tacos with 8 or so selections of meat. I went 2 tacos carne asada and pollo asado.

tortillas - 2 corn tortillas, slightly grilled, out of a package, probably made locally

toppings - cilantro, onions, hot sauce, and lime wedge. perfect mix. The hot sauce had heat and flavoring alone is in the 9 range.

carne asada - not grilled over an open flame but the seasoning was super good. It's one of the best I've had in San Jose. They load the taco with ALOT of meat. Bonus points. (Picture #7).

pollo asado - awesome marinade, my mouth is watering just thinking about how good it was. Had an orange coloring to it and probably the stuff out of the meat department in the market. It's the real deal. You don't run into this stuff that often, it's frickin good.

chicken burrito - Eddie ordered a burrito (picture #6) and it was a 9 range burrito. You'll rarely hear Eddie saying anything nice about food but the magic words were spoken 'This is a good burrito, I would come back again'. Probably saying that because of the attractive women behind the counter. Eddie, knock knock...1...2....3...

El Sol Market tacos are awesome. Some of the best I've had in the area. Now, with everything sounding like it should be a 9, why did I give it an 8? Flies. Omg, you should have seen the flies inside the market. It was soooo gross that we had to eat outside. El Sol Market needs to do something about the fly infestation. Even the bakery case had flies HANGING out on the pastries. I would have taken a picture but everyone was pretty much staring at me to begin with. I drop a FULL point on the flies alone. Other than that, if the flies was just a random occurrence, I would highly recommend making the trek.

Upon pulling into this place, I didn't have high hopes. The place looks rundown, and dirty. Flies were everywhere. Buzzing outside, buzzing inside, buzzing inside the pastry cabinets, it was gross. There as no menu on the wall anywhere. It just was not very customer-friendly.

I place my order for a veggie burrito. Service was quick and it wasn't long til I was sitting outside, batting flies away, and munching on a veggie burrito. The burrito was solid, was large chunks of tomato and plentiful chopped lettuce. The rice was tasty, the beans were average. There wasn't much (if any cheese) sadly enough, but the sour cream was there. Avocado chunks were sparse, but there. I found the tortilla to be flavorful. Overall I was pleased with my burrito, and I actually would go out of my way to come here and order another one. I am anxious if they offer a shrimp burrito... if so, I am ordering one.

I tried some of Jasons dessert (pic 5) and it tasted like a macaroon. Very flavorful with a rich coconut taste. I just wouldn't order anything from the display cases, what with all the flies in there. Stick to the burritos (and probably tacos) and you will be happy.
