Fatima Restaurant have big fishes on display in their aquariums. Im sure they arent for the customers as these fishes look pretty happy swimming around. I think this is my 1st muslim chinese restaurant to visit and noticing some slight differences. There was no pork on the menu, plenty of lamb dishes, and halal meat.

Service was quite fast but didnt feel guinine. We placed our orders and in the middle of ordering, some people walked in, the waitress pointed them to a table and walked away without finishing our orders with us. I guess we were done ordering?

I ordered the shrimp with broccoli and seafood crispy noodles. While we waited, tea was served followed by hot and spicy soup, and out of the fryer egg rolls. These suckers were scalding hot, I burned the roof of my mouth.

egg rolls - crispy and hot, had some curry flavor to it, interesting taste.

hot and spicy - normally not a fan but this soup was really good

seafood crispy noodles - it wasnt exactly what I was expecting. Its like they got a bunch of noodles and did a light frying to them, then covered in a brown sauce which btw wasnt salty. It was mixed with some veggies, shrimp and scallops. Some of the noodles were burned and seafood was non-existant. I thought the dish was ok, wasnt too impressed and not sure if I would order it again.

shrimp with broccoli - I order this dish quite a bit and impressed on how they cooked my shrimps perfectly. Awesome flavor and gave me plenty of pieces. Broccoli was dark green and firm. This meal was good on the tummy.

I liked Fatima restaurant as their food wasnt high in sodium nor did it leave gasping for water as I got back to work. I think the next time I visit I'll need to try a lamb dish. I dont think Ive ever had chinese food with lamb. Service was fast, food was delivered in short amount of time and waters were always refilled. Food is good and prices are very respectable. Fatima restaurant gets a nod of approval from me and would have no problems returning.

Fatima impressed me. I went there with an open mind and had heard absolutely nothing about it. Upon entry, I was very impressed with their large fishtanks with HUGE fish. You know those fish have been around for awhile and well cared for. This kind of attention and long-term care speaks well for the ownership of this restaurant. They are in it for the long haul.

Well we were quickly shown a seat and I scanned the menu. I settled on the spicy tofu and shrimp. We decided to share the seafood pan fried noodles as well.

I was a little disappointed that the lunch specials didn't have the no-cost option of going with fried rice instead of steamed. I am not a big steamed rice fan. Just seems like a waste of food for something with no flavor. Anyway, the veggie eggrolls arrived quickly (which came with our lunch specials). I found them to be crispy and flavorful without being overly greasy. (well any more greasy than deep fried eggrolls should be). They also had a bit different flavor that Jason attributed to curry.

The tofu and shrimp arrived and I found it to be quite tasty. And surprisingly a lot of food. I actually couldn't finish it, what with the rolls and the pan fried noodles. I was less impressed with the pan fried noodles. The seafood in it was good, and not too much rubbery stuff which always is a good thing for me. Overall, though, I think I wouldn't order this.

If you are in the mood for a quick lunch that is a bit different tasting than standard chinese food, I would definitely give Fatima a try. I certainly will consider it one of my close-to-work Chinese food destinations now. Good stuff.
