My photo gallery 		Mini Gourmet is one of the legendary spots to get your grub on at 3AM. It's one of the few restaurants in San Jose to remain open 24 hours a day. The restaurant sits on the corner of Bascom and Parkmoor. It's easy to find as it directly across from San Jose city college and Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. There's plenty of parking in the back.

Ask any local San Jose person where to get a late night meal and majority will say Mini Gourmet. The restaurant is decked out in vinyl booths with decorations dating back to the 70s and beyond. If you're not interested in a table, they have counter service and melt away in rotating spaceship style seats.

The menu is large but my sources say stick to the breakfast or lunch menu and you'll be fine. I could have gotten the club or burger but seeing that Mini Gourmet is a special place, I'd live it up with the egg sandwich with bacon. It's the best of both worlds, kinda like breakfast but lunch.

The egg sandwich (image 7, 8) comes on 2 pieces of toasted white with mayo, lettuce, tomatoes, and my favorite part, bacon wrapped in eggs. It's a sandwich you can make at home but who wants to wash dishes. Mini Gourmet doesn't shy on the crispy bacon and if they wanted to make it a true artery clogger, add american cheese. The Egg Sandwich was very good but only worth it if you're in the area or wanting a late night bite.

The food rates around a 7 and enjoy it much more than Denny's or other chain diner places. Late night hours are a big bonus and today's lunch service was outstanding. Our drinks were refilled promptly and our waiter even grabbed 2 small bowls of syrup for the Monte Cristo sandwiches. My sandwich with a coke, tip, and tax rang in at $12.
