- clean dining room
- prices were good
- picture menu book is OUTSTANDING, you can view what you're ordering
- friendly service
- bun thit nuong - beef noodle dish was authentic tasting and pork had a wonderful grilled flavor

Dislikes

- shrimp wontons tasted like pork rinds. It was the oddest flavor for something thats suppose to be seafood. If I had to guess how they prepared it, they took a pile of shrimp and placed it in a food processor, placed some of the meat in wonton wrappers and fried them to heaven. It sounds good but the delivery just wasn't there.

Quang Da is definitely a place worth visiting. You'll enjoy the food and prices seemed right.

This was a Jatbar drive-by - we had never heard of it or had any wishlist request for it. There were quite a few restaurants in the area, and this one looked to be the most rundown. And for some reason, whenever Jason and I are together - whenever all else is unknown, we go for the cheeziest looking place.

Turns out we made the right choice today. The inside was clean and welcoming. The place wasn't jumping, but maybe half full on this late lunch hour. We sat at a table and had plenty of time to look over the menu. There were quite a few vegetarian offerings which made me happy. They also provided a photo book with every single dish on the menu. This was WAY cool. I settled on the first veggie item on the menu, a noodle bowl (with a little soup at the bottom) and a healthy portion of veggies and tofu on top.

It wasn't hall of fame material, but it was still very tasty. Quite fresh and delicious - a great vegetarian selection that filled me up and left me satisfied.

We also split an order of the shrimp wontons. I had quite a few of these and it wasn't until the last one that I ultimately decided that I didn't like it. It had a weird texture and flavor - that ultimately didn't appeal to me much. It was deep fried -so that was good - but I would say skip it. Just go with one of the solid main dishes.

Also of note: they have no Thai Iced Tea, but a good iced tea.

Thursday night and the bf and I were the only ones there! Well, until some Vietnamese girls gettin' ready for da club (or is that their regular attire?) came by as we were leaving.

Banh it kep banh ram (crispy sticky rice flour topped with sticky rice flour dumplings) - This was absolutely texture tantalizing! It tastes like a very happy marriage between super sticky mochi and a really crispy Chinese donut. I love the fish sauce because they put jalapenos and chilis in it so there's a nice kick in addition to the sweetness. One order comes with three pieces and it looks very little but once the rice flour starts expanding in your belly, you will definitely feel it!

Mi xia xiu hoanh thanh kho (egg noodle with shrimp wonton & slice bbq pork) - This tastes like Chinese style wonton soup. At my first sip of soup, I thought it was MSG-ridden but after my meal was over, I wasn't too thirsty so maybe it wasn't MSG after all. I usually gauge how much MSG there is in a dish by my thirstiness afterwards. Overall this is a plain dish but good if that's what you're in the mood for.

Mi quang (yellow rice noodle crab soup w/ shrimp, pork, bean sprouts, lettuce, mint & rice cakes) - Not quite a soup dish, not quite a dry dish but UBER TASTY. There are tons of stuff in it and very little broth. The broth basically just sits on the bottom and the noodles absorb the flavors. I loved the in-between firm and soft consistency of the noodles.

I missed out on trying the baby clams over rice but I didn't see it in the picture menu so I thought they took it off the menu. But then I saw it afterwards. What a bummer! I will definitely come again because there were many other dishes that looked amazing. I'm still really surprised at how empty it was considering I haven't seen too many restaurants that serve Central Vietnamese food around. I love how clean the restaurant was and how spacious it is for big group. The best part about this place really is the picture menu--it's friendly for anyone with eyes even if there is a communication barrier between patrons & the workers.
