I wonder if Tony Sopranos Pizzeria is in any relation to the tv show? I like the Sopranos and enjoy sliced pizza even more. We arrived during lunchtime and the restaurant was packed. There were about 5 different pies in the display case with the weird haired guy tossing slices in the oven.

I ordered the pepperoni and sausage. The slices were NY thin and $3-4 each. Sat down next to the display case and my slice was ready in minutes. For something that just came out of an oven, it looked exactly the same from the display case. Was the oven even on? My pizza was still cold and none of the cheese was melted. I took 2 bites and a tad sad. The pizza tasted a day old and it appeared to have 2 layers of cheese on it. I would have returned it but already halfway done with it.

crust - thin, just ok

cheese - too much cheese, overwhelmed the pizza, wasnt even melted

sauce - mild, just ok

toppings - pepperoni was plentiful. Sausage was a disappointment, like the frozen stuff you get at the market

Overall, the food was just ok. For $3, I cant complain too much. The people behind the counter were nice. Looking at Terry's slice of cheese, you would wonder where the hell he got that slice as it was nothing like mine. I'd come back for the rematch, until then, Tony Sopranos slips by with a 7.

Tony Sopranos was a suggestion on the Jatboard that I was eager to try out. Sounded like it would be an authentic New York slice of pizza. One of my major quests is finding the perfect New York Slice out here. Came close a few times, but nothing quite there yet.

We get there and the place is a bit large but almost reminiscent of a new york pizzeria with the large counter proudly displaying fresh pies for people to buy slices of. A big oven behind the counter for warming them up.

I went with a slice of cheese pizza. The slice was a bit over $2, which wasn't too bad. It was thrown in the oven and I waited a little bit. It came out warm and gooey. Perfect.

I sit down and find the garlic salt on the table. Now we're talking!

I bite into it. Crust is a bit firm, a little on the bland side. The sauce was decent enough but not inspiring. Standard stuff. The cheese was probably the best part of it, thin, but tasty enough. Not the best cheese, but passable.

Its weird - I found the pizza to be authentic, but none of the ingredients were particularly pleasing to me. Tony Sopranos could get it right if they used higher quality stuff. The place had a good vibe to it, the people working there were quick and efficient and friendly. The slices LOOKED legit. The flavor was not up to snuff though.

If I was in the area I would return. It just won't be winning any awards in my book.

I went by there on Tuesday March 18th @ 7:00 pm and it was closed. It was supposed to be open until 11:00pm. It looks like it's closed for good.

Eggplant Parmesan Sandwich

Now that's a lot of food! I got the medium and almost couldn't finish it. Very good and more "East Coast" than their pizza, which tends to be a bit thick and soggy for me.
