How did I miss B St. Rotisserie? You mention Rotisserie and IM THERE. Oh man, I seriously cant get enough chicken rotisserie anything. I even walked 2 blocks in the drizzling rain to visit this place. B St. Rotisserie is very new and its apparent they are undergoing growing pains. The people are friendly but they need to work on the flow of taking orders. I probably stood a good 5-7 minutes before placing my order.

Although tempted with the pastrami, I had to order the chicken dinner. 1/2 chicken and 2 sides. I went with the green beans and mashed potatoes. The menu stated a roll was suppose to be included but when I got home, no roll...sigh. The green beans tasted like the canned beans with chicken broth. Its not a bad thing, I eat the canned stuff a lot. The mashed potatoes caught me off guard. Ive never had super sour mashed potatoes and question if they went overboard with the sourness. I ate half my potatoes.

The sides were so so but the rotisserie bird was wonderful. The skin was crispy and coated with plenty of herbs and seasonings. Chicken was tender with the meat practically falling off the bone. I only planned on eating half of it but couldnt stop myself. I dusted the entire 1/2 chicken and was in rotisserie heaven. Super good, Id order it anytime of the day.

I have faith in B St. Rotisserie and think they could do better. I plan on making another visit in 2 weeks to try the pastrami and will order the potatoes again. Look for the rematch.

RETURN VISIT for Jason! 2/4/2006 - 8.5 Rating: I was in town getting my oil change so I decided to stop by for a Pastrami sandwich. oh my gawd....its real PASTRAMI and it only cost $6!! real beef brisket! He used a blade to cut into the slab of pastrami, not the packaged meat thats thrown into the deli slicer. Its not often I run into real pastrami and I was looking forward to this treat. I went with a soft roll and provalone with all the toppings. For all pastrami meals, I always grade them against Katz Deli in New York. The meat today wasnt as fatty as Katz Deli but more on the leaner side. Although lean, the meat had tons of flavor and parts of it melted in my mouth. oh sooooo good....stop by B St. Rotisserie and taste for yourself. You might have to make 2-3 visits though because their rotisserie chicken is equally as tasty.

RETURN VISIT for Jason! 2/8/2006 - 6.5 Rating: With 3 visits in the last couple of weeks, B St. Rotisserie has been hit or miss. I went for a visit around 7:30PM for a chicken dinner with rice pilaf and green beans.

the chicken was undercooked, there was blood by the bone and even the juices werent clear? How could they undercook a rotisserie chicken? I had to cut it up and throw it on the frying pan. What a disapointment...

rice pilaf was dry and had no moisture whatsoever. Im sure it might have been a tasteful delight when it was first cooked up but not tonight.

Whats disppoints me the worst was the bread. I watched them ponder if they should give me different bread. They knew the bread was stale and too hard. The chef took the bread and nuked it, threw it in the bag and what do you think it tasted like when I got home? Total garbage, I could have used this bread to hammer in a couple of nails. There should be a rule when it comes to serving bread, if its hard and stale, I should be able to return to the restaurant and throw it at the person who served it to me.
